About this ebook
The Tin Woodman of Oz: The Tin Man and the Scarecrow are regaling each other with tales of past adventures in the Tin Man's castle in the Winkie Country when a Gillikin boy named Woot wanders into their presence. After he is fed and rested (which the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow, not being of blood and flesh, do not need), Woot asks the Tin Man how he became made of tin. The Tin Man tells Woot the story of how he had once been a flesh-and-blood woodman in love with a maiden named Nimmie Aimee. Woot suggests that since the Tin Man now has a kind and loving heart, it is his duty to find Nimmie Aimee and make her Empress of the Winkies. The Scarecrow agrees, so the three set off to search for the girl. Will they find her, and if they do, will she still love the Tin Man? This lavishly illustrated edition has more than one hundred illustrations by John R. Neill.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is my personal favorite Oz book. It's markedly more existential than any other book in the series, quite bizarre in places, and it focuses on my three favorite characters: the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and Polychrome. There are at least two or three Baum Oz books that are objectively "better," in terms of their well-roundedness or their universal appeal, but I think this is still a very high-level volume (and it has some of Neill's very best art, too). Those who can appreciate it are absolutely right to do so.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Includes the Tin Woodman and Captain Fyter who was a soldier who went through the same transformation at the hands of the same tinsmith.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have always been a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz. Growing up, I only knew of the actual movie. Then once I became an adult and started working on my Oz collection, I read the book.
Never knowing that there were several books in the series, I instantly stared downloading books and reading. Even at the age of 40 something, I love these books.
Your never too old to wander to Oz and live the crazy life that exist with Dorothy and her friends. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A wonderful story. I love the friendship between the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow.
