The first tale-The battle of Dunkikvor

    ––––––––

Deep within me, I knew my days were coming to an end.

I spent the last decades spreading my story and my experiences on the battlefield around the world, and yet, very few people believed me. Most of them though I was just some old story-teller, knowing the tales from the last war against the Forces of Darkness. It's true that none of my listeners were present in those times, and that all my comrades-in-arms were killed on the battlefields, and yet, I had been there. But, even if nobody took me seriously, my duty was to continue spreading and keeping these legends alive, so nobody would forget what happened.

I was thinking again about one of my last battles while riding my dragon, but I soon realised I was flying rather low, nearly at ground-level. Sadly, my old dragon Khaefrik couldn't be compared to a young one. Extremely slow and too old, he was one of the few living descendents of the great Delkar, a mighty dragon who fought on the side of the Forces of Darkness.

Once I had dismounted my dragon, I took out my horn from my bag, and blew it as loudly as I could, in order to gather the villagers around me.

"Gather, my friends, hear my mighty tale of honour and glory! Hear how I fought with my steel and believed in my sword, and how the war against the Forces of Darkness ended!"

I used to try to convince people that these events I'm about to tell really took place, but, since nobody believed me, I ended up telling it as a tale. People would listen in this case, and, eventually, remember it and pass it to another generation as folklore. That's the only thing I could do in order to keep these events in the memory of the population.

"I came from a land of mighty warriors, warriors that weren't afraid of anything and that praised their gods. We were as strong as a bear, and were trained from the moment we could walk, in order to
