    The late PAUL HUTCHENS, one of evangelical Christianity's most prolific authors, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 1977. Mr. Hutchens, an ordained Baptist minister, served as an evangelist and itinerant preacher for many years. Best known for his Sugar Creek Gang series, Hutchens was a 1927 graduate of Moody Bible Institute. He was the author of 19 adult novels, 36 books in the Sugar Creek Gang series, and several booklets for servicemen during World War II. Mr. Hutchens and his wife, Jane, were married 52 years. They had two children and four grandchildren.

      This was a very good mystery story from a strong Christian perspecitve. The Sugar Creek Gang travels to Cuba in this story to search for a missionary's long-lost brother. Recommended. ---June 20, 2011---

      The Sugar Creek Gang flies to Cuba. Bill and Poetry think Old Man Paddler's long lost twin brother is one it and made a promise to each other that they would find him. Problem is, they get separated from the rest of the group and without a compass! While they are lost, they find an old man that looks just like Old Man Paddler. Only this guy turns out to be "mentally ill" as Bill calls it. Thankfully for them the old man is sane enough to show them the way to go. No one knew, but Dragonfly bought a lottery ticket! When he gets lucky and wins he feels guilty and doesn't claim his prize. Instead, he plans to keep it for good luck. The Gang also gets in a fight with a mad goat!I don't like it when Dragonfly really believes in luck, but at least he didn't claim the prize. The book real good.
