I love coming into your garden, Granny, exclaimed Daisy, one day, when she and her parents were visiting. It’s just like a fairy garden, she added, as she pushed through the conservatory door and out into the sun.

That’s because it is, love, thought Ursula, smiling as she watched Daisy skip across the lawn with Lady, her wee Schnauzer dog, barking excitedly, bouncing about after her.

Daisy had left her parents and her Grandmother Ursula to talk, adult talk.

Smiling, Daisy looked around the beautiful garden and at the pebble-surrounded pond over in the corner that her Grandfather had made. On the edge of the pond, growing up through some of the pebbles, Poppies were already in full bloom- pinks, reds, dancing in the light summer breeze. The summer-seat was over in the shaded part of the garden and with Lady sniffing at her heels, the little girl sat down.
