About this ebook

Still reeling from the shock of discovering his wife's infidelity, Judd Altman learns that he has lost his father and will be one himself. His soon to be ex-wife, Quinn, is pregnant with his child.
After almost losing the baby, Wade (Judd's old boss and Quinn's lover) realizes the truth about himself and his relationship with Quinn and leaves her. Judd, in the face of Quinn's situation, forgives her, but cannot reconcile their marriage.
With nothing but a stolen Porsche, Judd drives to Maine with limitless possibilities. A man with nothing has nothing to lose, and a man with nothing to lose can do anything.
Twenty Four Weeks begins with Judd's time of reflection in Maine and his eventual decision to return to New York City, to take back the life that has been so cruelly taken from him. Sometimes humorous, this bitter-sweet tale is full of hope, love and forgiveness.
With characters and back story based on the novel "This is Where I Leave You" by Jonathan Tropper, Twenty Four Weeks is set after the events of the movie of the same name.

I walk down this corridor full of doors. I came here because I thought it would be quiet. I came here to think and with all these people around its next to imposable. Downstairs, in the lobby, I’m confronted by a stark reminder of where my life has headed. At the entrance to the main dining room there stands a sign board. Upon it appears a picture of an older, loving couple, years of wisdom on their faces. I can’t help feeling a little jealous looking at them. They made it. They passed through the myriad of obstacles in their way and remained together. I wonder how they did it, because my experience was completely different. My experience was filled with pain, anguish, betrayal.

I’ve never had the inclination to evaluate my life. I suppose, in retrospect, I should have years ago. I should have taken a long, hard look at myself, my life, my marriage. If I had, then maybe I would have prevented the decay and eventual collapse of everything that I was, everything I had, everything that I was to be. At the very least I could have seen the signs, could have asked her what was happening, maybe prevented it. But I ignored those signs, I ignored the clear indications that we were in trouble, acted like we were okay when we weren’t. And all the while she was fucking my boss behind my back, for a year, even in my own bed.

I’ve been hurt on so many levels that even I don’t understand.

And that was why I was here. I was here to take that long, hard look. I was here to conduct a post-mortem. I was here to try and work out just what the hell went wrong.
