About this ebook

He looks like a normal dude, but he's not.
Let me tell you his detective short stories in under 1000 words.

What if you are an ex British detective stuck in a stunning medieval Italian city? Ask Chase Williams – he will tell you many stories about his life in Tursenia.
He wanted a life changing scenario, so after he quit Scotland Yard he landed in beautiful Tursenia, a sunny Etruscan city in the heart of Italy. Despite Chase's promise of not being involved in any crime scenes anymore, he always ends up dealing with minor offences and everyday crimes and mysteries happening just around the corner, where you may think nothing dark could ever occur.

In this first, tiny volume of the detective short stories series, Chase stumbles upon many minor and baffling offences that you might otherwise have missed. However, Chase's investigative eye never sleeps.

Chase accompanies his childhood friend Inspector Angelo Alunni into a strange police adventure, and you will also meet some of the traditional Italian characters that populate Chase's neighbourhood.

Chase's six short stories all under 1000 words in length drag you into the coloured and mysterious world of Tursenia. These are detective short stories that will make you crave the rest of the series.

Inspector Alunni could not have thanked Chase Williams in a better way for his help. Chase was with the Police on the eastern outskirts of Tursenia, a Medieval city in the heart of Italy, where he recently moved from the UK. They were somewhere along a small road close to a compound of high buildings, probably housing projects. Chase was the only one with no gun. The last time he’d held one of those was in London, ages ago.

He was moving stealthily, with the look of someone who has already experienced similar situations, but never behind a handful of officers with body armour before. Luckily, the Tursenian Police had lent him a bulletproof vest.

Mrs Xiong was staring at the corner, her eyes downcast, her hands tucked under the waistband of her trousers. There was a young girl next to her who had long black hair, porcelain skin and a guilty expression. If only she hadn’t fallen in love with that guy! Her father had told her at least a thousand times that her boyfriend did not ring true to him. But the stubbornness of the young always wins.

The building they were in used to be the domain of enormous portholes, change machines and washing machines – a Laundromat.

Mrs Xiong was impotently watching her empire falling down. And it was
