TAPESTRY
Life is like a tapestry—
threads woven through the years,
the vertical strands, the warp—our foundations—
the colored yarns and threads we choose
to weave horizontally in and out, the weft
we create as we live our lives.
Each hue of color we choose,
the brightness, the softness, the dullness,
each type of yarn or thread we choose,
the thickness, the thinness, the fuzziness, the hardness,
represents how we remember, how we see and feel
an event, an experience in our lives,
until, when we are old and our tapestries are finished
and we hang them on the walls of our beings
and see them in our faces in
