“THE WATER LOOKS LIKE GLASS.” I look down past my feet and then turn my eyes forward to see what Ash was talking about. The fairy floss skies of the Brisbane morning reflects into the water, glazed and untouched, shortly before the barge that we’re standing on shatters the glass to take us across to Stradbroke Island.
