The Spirit of Truth Is Power - Joan Jessalyn Cox

    Hope

    Preface

Beloved believers in Jesus Christ, it’s my deep heartfelt desire that you experience all the Lord has for you to experience in the center of his will for you. You will discover in this book we begin with an in-depth study of obtaining the truth of God’s word because you serve him in Grace and truth. Spiritual development has been hindered, because of the lack of in-depth teaching of the profound word of God. I hope with all my heart that before you finish the full series of Foundational Faith in Truth, you are revived, established in full truth, and growing stronger in your faith in Jesus Christ.

The Spirit of Truth is Power, shows you the complete unmerited favor of God’s love as expressed in its fullness of Grace. You will see how the three-fold ways of love works to give you the courage to stand up strong for Jesus Christ. You will see how true love is always mutual. You will see Jesus Christ as your compassionate companion who always loves and supports you through everything you confront in life.

The more you know someone, the more you love them, the better you know them, the more you want to know about them, and so love grows within your heart. It’s our objective to help you know the true God in his fullness better, to trust him more, and serve him as if your life depended upon your accurate understanding of whom you serve. When you know him better, you can improve your Christian conduct, and gain the courage of full faith in Jesus Christ.

You will see how the courage of speaking honestly in truth, gives you enough of God’s love to share with the world, and enough faith with holy boldness to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

You will see how the harmony of hope in Christians increases when they come together in full faith. Christian’s united faith will uplift others as they pray in the name that is above all names, Jesus Christ. It’s time for the "Body of Christ" to stand up strong together to shine the light once again on Jesus Christ.

Spiritual renewal during the Great Revival will begin to bring the "Body of Christ" together to share his abundant grace with all people. Christians will unite with revived faith in Jesus Christ from every nation. They will be revived and restored to live up to the high moral standards of Jesus Christ before his glorious return.

Christian’s absolute surrender to the power of all moral decency in Jesus Christ is accepting his moral standards. It’s through improved Christian conduct that will lead the way to renewed credibility in Christian witness.

Spiritual value in every Christian is brought forth with the Bible open before them to seek Jesus Christ in his fullness for themselves and seeking him fervently with a humble, contrite heart in prayer. When you know Jesus is listening to every word you say and trusting him that your answer is on the way when you pray, you are increasing in your power of faith in Jesus Christ.

Your friend in service to Jesus Christ, ~Joan Jessalyn Cox

    Introduction

The Spirit of Truth is Power: A Christian Training Book for Spiritual Maturity.

The power of truth creates a firm foundation of faith for Christians to grow and mature.

When God’s word sinks deep into a believer’s heart God’s truth leads, guides and directs him into the righteousness of God. The truth becomes God’s guiding light for his life.

Your blessings will flow when you invest your time and effort to know the word of God accurately. Your faith will increase when you spend time alone with the Lord in prayer to grow in God’s grace (merciful love).

Spiritual maturity improves Christian conduct because you become skilled in the accurate truth of the word of God and learn how to be effective in prayer. You must thoroughly understand all the Lord’s basic truths for living the deeper Christ life, so you can change to become like the Lord in your behavior before those who are miserable in sin.

We live in a world full of sin and evil, sinners exist without God’s righteousness, nor access to his mighty power and blessings.

Christians desire to live up to the standards of God’s perfection, but they are lacking in the knowledge and understanding of the basic truths they need to grow in the grace and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

But grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18

Spiritually unskilled Christians feel helpless to be able to perform the works of God and to reflect Jesus Christ’s perfect personality before a world lost in the sadness, pain, and misery of sin.

Christians want to help an unrepentant person, who is recklessly squandering their life away. Someone dying under the crushing weight of guilt and burdened with shame in the sadness of sin. However, Christians are lacking in enough knowledge of the basic truths that will set sinners free from the bondage of sin. They are also lacking in enough profound truth to help others to be established in sound teaching, where they can understand the scriptures.

It’s very important for all new Christians to have access to both sound material and teachers for spiritual growth. Sound instruction in the profound truth of God’s word will help them improve their own Christian conduct to be a credible witness to unbelievers.

A Christian’s witness about Jesus Christ will only be believed if their life verifies the statements they have made, they must be trustworthy to be believed.

You must be skilled in the word of God, for your spiritual progress to develop into maturity. Spiritual maturity is necessary to obtain your best for the Lord, to become fruitful, and to be enabled to move onto God’s agenda for your life.

A maturing believer is spiritually hungry for the truth of the word and desires to be like Christ in their conversation and conduct. Accurate knowledge is profound truth, and truth liberates the soul from all error.

Error is taken into one’s mind when the truth is not immediately made clear. When people are not enlightened to the truth about a subject they are left in the dark.

The absence of teaching the full word of God in truth has left a void in the hearts of believers that needs to be filled for the fullness of faith to be felt throughout the whole Body of Christ.

Erroneous teaching tries to combine truth and error then produces confusion. Confusion opens the door to a great emotional upheaval that will eventually manifest in negative thinking and behavior which develops into sin.

Sin comes knocking at the door of one’s mind when it is filled with confusion and gains entry to try to confound and rob them of the promises of God.

The end results of commingling truth and error is devastatingly disgusting. Error entangles you into the frustrating sins that will waste your life and prevents you from receiving the blessings given to believers who trust and obey the truth. Jesus told his audience, Ye shall know the truth and the truth, shall make you free.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth and the truth, shall make you free. John 8: 31-32

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

When you as a Christian, feel you have wasted too much time and effort in the ways of the world, and you desire to do more for the Lord, you will begin to seek the truth. You discover you need to know more, to do more to spread the gospel of Christ. It’s time for change!

It’s time to use all the spiritual gifts you have for the glory of God; it’s time to be prepared for the blessings to come during the Great Revival. It’s time to make a great change in your Christian experience and to move into the presence of God.

One day while I prayed I heard quietly in my mind, The warning came, and no one listened. It’s time for the warning about Jesus Christ’s return to be taken seriously by both Christians and the unsaved.

Apostle Paul’s prayer for the church:

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power. Ephesians 1:17-19

The effectiveness of your whole Christian experience depends upon your ability to grow spiritually. You grow through understanding the truth of God’s word and knowing how to pray sincerely. Spiritual growth helps you to abide in the Lord, through obedience to Jesus Christ’s commandments.

•Christians must pray effectively according to Jesus Christ’s teaching on prayer to see great results.

•Prayer is to be prayed sincerely from the heart.

•Effective prayer knows how to pray in faith to expect results.

•True prayer is direct communication with Jesus Christ.

•Sincere prayer is the way to develop a relationship with the Lord.

•Reading the word of God establishes and increases your faith in Jesus Christ to accept the answer before you see it manifest.

Prayer prepares the heart to be receptive to the truth of God’s word.

I can pray for you in Jesus Christ’s name. I can’t do your praying for you! A statement that a praying Christian could make.

The reason it is imperative to pray and read the word is to instill words of faith in your heart and mind. It is the only way to be effective in receiving the greater manifestations of spiritual gifts, ministries, and miracles of God.

Prayer, and reading the word of God, are both necessary to grow in spiritual strength. The spiritual value of prayer, and reading the word of God with understanding, are echoed throughout this book.

Every word in the word of God is important, and none of it is to be left out of one’s understanding. Every word in the Holy Bible is a means to obtain righteousness. You can’t put into action or use, what you don’t know.

The accurate truth of the word of God will establish your faith, knowledge, and discernment, on a solid foundation. The truth will keep you safe and sound in God’s high moral standards.

The Holy Spirit reveals the truth to be used within the actions of believers. The Grace of God is the power of Holy Love that moves people to be their best for the Lord and to do the best for others they encounter in life’s journey.

Spiritual maturity is the perfection of God within a believer.

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:12-14

Every word in the Holy Bible is important for your understanding and spiritual growth, but those subjects that are stressed repeatedly with many references holds vital importance for your stages of spiritual growth.

Profound truth is not always available to believers. Reading the word of God, pondering upon it and remembering it will help you to recognize when you are hearing truth and when someone is corrupting the word of God with error. The Holy Spirit, illuminate’s scripture so you can understand the word of God for yourself.

As also in all his epistles; speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:16-18

Why is it necessary to have the words of God dwelling in your heart, mind, and spirit?

When you have the word of God implanted in your heart, you will be able to resist sin and the sinful ways of the world and follow the Lord.

Lack of the complete truth of the word of God causes inadequacy in Christian conduct and brings into their "middle of the road" experience the failure of sin. Sin causes you to fail in your life’s work and hinders your ability to live in God’s perfection of righteousness.

The world’s erroneous words repeatedly contradict God’s word of truth. The sins of the ungodly will echo in their communication and will tattoo your mind with error and evil. Corrupt communication will lead you into sin and destruction if not refuted by the truth from scripture.

Remember a wasted life uses up your time, energy and money to no advantage. You will spend more trying to regain something lost, than if you would have built on that which is good.

When you learn the value and significance of the profound truth of God, you will be able to obtain the righteousness of God.

Righteous is to be morally upright before God, to meet the standards of what is right and just. Just is to be honorable and fair in one’s dealings and actions.

Righteousness causes you to overcome failure and defeat, to be triumphant over evil and obey the truth of God’s word. It causes you to be honorable and honest with God and the people you meet every day.

How to Know the Grace of God in Truth

How to study the Bible to Receive the Most Accurate Understanding of God’s Word
