About this ebook

The bestselling picture book that Publisher's Weekly calls "simultaneously sassy and sweet." Rabbit loves carrots and that's a big problem! In this phenomenal bestseller, Rabbit loves carrots a little too much. In fact, his carrots are crowding him out of his cozy burrow. When his friends offer to help, they're just asking for trouble, a lot of trouble! This charming and lovingly illustrated children's book, by acclaimed author Katy Hudson (A Loud Winter's Nap and Bear and Duck), shows how friendships get us over the rough spots in life, even if the going gets a little bumpy. Too Many Carrots is the perfect springtime, Eastertime, and anytime gift.

The "sharing makes everything better" message is way too heavy handed, but the illustrations are adorable. Better than average but not quite a home run.

Rabbit hoards carrots. He runs out of room in his house then destroys the homes of many of his generous friends. He finally realizes that sharing his carrots with his friends is better than saving them and that sharing them with his friends makes it even better. The illustrations are colourful and vibrant and have a lot in them to look at and talk about. The lesson learned is something that children will be able to relate to and give advice to rabbit as you read aloud to them individually or in a group. A great book for any family or classroom library.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

Rabbit keeps hoarding up carrots, to the point that there is no longer room left in his house for him! When he asks for help from his friends, things only go for bad to worse as he hauls more and more carrots around with him each time he stays at a friend's house. How will the animals ever survive? This short and sweet picture book shows that friendship and sharing ultimately win the day. There's also a subtler message about not being gluttonous. This could work nicely in a preschool classroom setting or a library storytime in addition to a one-on-one reading. The illustrations are nicely done and match the text while adding a little more.
