SOME GOOD ADVICE
Yippee, I am here to confirm that miracles still happen. The village Jubilee deadline was fast approaching. I had made a commitment to take the recently restored Johnson hoover along for display, so I thought I must make a concerted effort to locate some of the missing web bars off the rear conveyor. It just didn’t look finished without the web fitted.
Reclamation yard
So, after many hours of false trails and telephone calls, I found a contact that may be able to help. As it happens, it was in Lincolnshire and only 20 or so miles away. I won’t call it a scrap yard because it wasn’t. I would describe it as a vintage farming reclamation yard.
When I arrived at the yard gate, the chap came out of the house next to the yard. I had brought along a sample just to make sure I got the correct part. I explained to him that it was a 24-inch web bar off a Johnson or Ransomes hoover and could he help me out. He walked off into the mountains of piled-up rusty
