About this ebook
Ruth Beck's holiday season got brighter with her oncologist's "cancer free" diagnosis. But strange, anonymous text messages start trickling in to her phone. Alone and disturbed by the mysterious messages, Ruth connects on a busy street with Gabe, the trumpeter and leader of the Helping Hands Chairty Band. Together they walk to a bus stop near the Kovacs family bakery.
Their journey is just beginning.

HERALD ANGELS
Ruth Beck pushed away her half-full plate. She hadn't eaten at The Brew Haus in a while. The chefs spiced and cooked their food to perfection, just as she remembered. She forgot how they buried their plates under mountainous portions, though.
Ruth's sister, Maggie, straightened in her chair. Are you okay?
Yeah,
Ruth said. I'm not quite up to this challenge yet.
You up to shopping for a new wardrobe?
Maggie asked between bites of bratwurst and pierogi.
Ruth chuckled. At this time of year? Let's wait until the After Christmas Sales.
Maggie pouted. You won't be stylish for all the Christmas parties.
I'll be stylish enough.
Ruth sat back in her chair. She scrutinized Maggie's outfit. Store mannequins wore cardigan sweaters over T-shirts less gracefully. But Ruth dressed both well and comfortably, too, if less trendily.
