Lycra the beginning - Christiaan Bann

Love – for some it’s just a word, the rest would die for it.

They call me Lycra and I chose my own destiny.

Vikings and Elves were common enemies they both had their own weapons of destruction in the form of Vikings having their Dragons which they commanded, and the Elves having their Cyclops, the land was divided into the two territories the North belonging to the Vikings and the South belonging to the Elves. It’s been 100 years of peace with neither company breaching the territory lines.

    Chapter 1

Being the daughter of the royal family and the last of the Neon blood line I was protected well by the guards, at the age of 7; I was taught the way of the Elves by using the forest to hide and survive. The Cyclops’s protected the territory lines and so were the Dragons protecting their own for the Vikings. At the age of 10; I was taught the art of self defence and bow firing as well as hand to hand combat, it was an ancient art of the Elves, at the age of 16; I was old enough to be taught the ancient Elves magic by commanding earth to listen. I was the complete Elve, my history was passed down to me, at the age of 18; I would be married and would be expected to provide a future Neon bloodline for the Elves.

It’s now 1 year before I turn 18, but I was not ready, I wanted to explore and be free to roam around and find my own path, this was not the destiny I wanted for myself.

Mother, please explain to me one more time, why must I get married next year? I asked my mother. Well Lycra, it is the way of the Elves and, And what! I shouted and ran out of the house. Lycra! mother shouted. But I was on my way, on my way to my secret hideout. My hideout was on the Territory line, I used my Elves magic to camouflage my hideout trees grew over it and grass covered it completely, when I arrived at my hideout Cairo was already there waiting for me. What’s the matter Lycra? You know my family wants’ me to get married but I do not want to moaning and rolling my eyes. How long have you been here? I just arrived before you, smiling while pulling the chair out from under the table Sit, I will pour us some water, I brought some bread from our village, Nice I said excited as there were none of those growing in our territory...Cairo was a Viking he was sturdily build with light sky blue eyes and a Viking’s beard like he named it, he had a very strong personality like a true Viking although he was gentle and somewhat silly when he was around me, we met when I was practicing the way of the Elves by hiding and using the forest survive, he was wondering around one day when he saw me running up and down finding places to hide, at that age I had never seen a Viking child, I only knew about the stories that was told to us, so curiosity drew me to speak with him, he was fascinating no different to me, except for his strange looking round ears, we became friends and would meet at this specific place every day till today. We sat and laughed as always, so what are you going to do? About what? Acting as if I did not know what he was talking about. The marriage? O’ you mean that, I don’t know Can you not tell your mother that you do not want to? I could see in his eyes he wanted me to do so. I don’t know if she would listen to me, maybe I should just do it teasing Cairo a bit wanting him to object, I wanted him to say it first. Please Lycra tell your mother, sighing tell her you are not ready yet.Perhaps I want to get married at the age of 18. And took a bite of the bread he brought with Yes maybe, but maybe to someone else maybe? Cairo pulled up his shoulders and hands as he asked. Like who? pretending like I had no idea who he was talking about. Maybe
