SOME YOU WIN, SOME YOU LOSE.

The gale force wind blew fiercely, trees bending and showering their leaves across the road, baring their branches to the cold. The rain filling the already overflowing filthy gutters, cyclists pedalling hard against the relentless freezing storm, careless drivers purposefully skimming close to the footpath spraying passer- byes with smelly gutter rain water.

It is Friday afternoon, Alison as usual waiting at the bus stop. Her last day at the factory, she had been laid off work together with other six workers, it hadn’t been unexpected, for several months their lives had been on a razor’s edge it was no surprise to anyone, the global crises had no regard for the common people!

Alison ’s mind was wandering forward anxious to get home and sink into a hot scented bath and to listen to some relaxing music, when suddenly a spray of muddy water from a passing car soaking her clothes from head to foot, her reaction is immediate, she screamed and chased the car flinging her umbrella towards the moving vehicle smashing a rear light. The car screeched to a halt, splashing even more water over the stunned queue of people who were waiting for the bus.

Alison steps out onto the road and faces her angry opponent-
