About this ebook

Etiquette by Emily Post, first published in 1922; Illustrated With Private Photographs And Facsimiles Of Social Forms.

In Society, In Business, In Politics, and At Home. Worry about which fork to reach for, which word to use and, worse, which accent or gesture will best fit in? Many who scoff at a book of etiquette would be shocked to hear the least expression of levity touching the Ten Commandments.

But the Commandments do not always prevent such virtuous scoffers from dealings with their neighbor of which no gentleman could be capable and retain his claim to the title. Though it may require ingenuity to reconcile their actions with the Decalogue—the ingenuity is always forthcoming.

An excellent book that describes in detail what ones footmen and upstairs maids should wear and how they should act when answering the door. An absolute must for anyone who all homeowners.
