I had high hopes for my upcoming semester at Queen’s Landing University.

My freshman year hadn’t been terrible—I’d made friends, enjoyed my classes, and loved the campus—but my roommate in the dorm had been full-on, batshit crazy.

My mother was prone to bouts of depression, and my first cousin was anorexic, so I didn’t throw the word ‘crazy’ around too often as most do. But my freshman year roomie, Wilbur Whitman had to be certifiable… Wilbur would hide under my bed and grab my feet while I slept, scaring the shit out of me. He would burst into song at the oddest times. He would also hide in my closet and jump out at me wearing false fangs. And at least once a week, I would wake up in the middle of the night and catch him jerking off in the dark while standing over my bed.

Many times, I had tried to change rooms, but everyone in the dorm knew about Wilbur’s antics so no one would switch. Unfortunately, my scholarship barely covered room and board, and I couldn’t afford a room on my own, so I’d been stuck with him.
