    Hell was boring.

It amused Lilith that the humans who did believe in Hell had this vision of fire and torture when the reality of it all was just an absence of a tangible world. There was no corporeal embodiment, no space, no light, only consciousnesses that would interact with each other in nearly the same manner strangers might strike up a conversation at a bar. Right now, the consciousness of an American inventor was rambling on about something or another that Lilith was ignoring.

In fact, she was daydreaming about a bar. It was, to her, the greatest human invention. During her last visit to the Mortal Plane, Lilith had chosen Paris for its wonderful nightlife and how easy it was to seduce drunken men. Sex, after all, was the reason for going to Earth and while she had no problem getting men to fuck, the confidence of drunken men she would never even consider was hilarious to her. Besides, she found gin and tonic delicious. She yearned to go back to Earth, but it was not yet her time.

Still ignoring the inventor, she sensed an unusual presence enter Hell. Souls entered in a regular stream of about one every two seconds but she knew this one.

"Excuse me, Steve," Lilith said. I have to go. My sister has returned. With that she stopped communicating with the computer guy. She found her sister quickly in the void.

"Eisheth," she said in way of greeting.

"Lilith," the body-less voice gave in an equal monotone. It was as routine to them as coming home from a day's work.

    "You return so soon."

"Yes, the body I was inhabiting was hit by a bus and I could not find a new candidate in time."

"A shame. Did you feed well?" Lilith knew she had.

"Oh, yes," replied Eisheth with a light tone. "In the eleven years I was there, I took at least one cock in my hosts a day."

If she had a face, Lilith would have frowned.

"How many hosts did you take?" Lilith knew Eisheth tended to take many hosts, while Lilith liked to form a bond with hers and keep them until their age made her feeding problematic.

    "Five," was the response.

    "So few, for you, sister."

"I was considering a new host when we were crushed."

"A shame, and no pretty candidate to be found by sunrise?" Asked Lilith.

"We were in Siberia for my host's work at the time."
