    Advances in Software Science and Technology, Volume 1 provides information pertinent to the advancement of the science and technology of computer software. This book discusses the various applications for computer systems.

    Organized into three parts encompassing 13 chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the phase structure grammar for Japanese called JPSG, and a parser based on this grammar. This text then explores the logic-based knowledge representation called Uranus, which uses a multiple world mechanism. Other chapters consider the optimal file segmentation techniques for multi-attribute files and describe the colored-binary-trie segmentation schemes. This book discusses as well the five methods for transforming attribute grammars into efficient action routines. The final chapter deals with the rules for submission of English papers that will be published, which includes papers that are reports of academic research by members of the Society.

    This book is a valuable resource for scientists and research workers.
