I annoy, love, respect, scare, seduce, hurt, anger, infatuate, frustrate, flatter, envy, amuse and tolerate everyone. I just do it better in writing thanks to a little thing called...edits. Okay no, seriously...I'm a simple minded person who enjoys the escape from real life through a book. I write with the group Story Orgy and hope to continue doing so for a long time. I also am privileged to be with the Pulp Friction writers creating intermingling books in a world all our own. And just like every other red blooded human – I love hearing from people. So feel free to drop me a line – whether it's a comment on my blog, an email, a tweet or you track me down on FaceBook or Google + ... it's easy to catch someone who wants to be caught.

    Final Blow

    Chapter One

They were running again. Mick had no problem keeping up with Rowen this time, considering the man had an ironclad grip on his wrist and seemingly didn't plan to let it go anytime soon. God, didn't they get enough of running through these damn woods?

The hairs on the back of Mick's neck stood up, and he knew their stalker was close. Watching them, toying with them, driving them through the woods at his pace and enjoying his power over them.

    This had to stop.

Rowen… The word came out broken thanks to Mick's lack of breath. I can't…I'm sorry, but I can't.

The now eerily familiar small pop echoed through the woods, and Mick knew the shooter had finally taken aim. He chanced a quick turnaround and—maybe his imagination played tricks on him—but he swore he saw the bullet racing through the air. The little piece of metal plunged into his chest, the pain radiated immediately through every nerve ending he had, and he went from holding Rowen's hand, running, to whipping around and landing in a pile of dried leaves, barely breathing.

Using the last of his strength, Mick rolled over onto his back. Rowen stood over him, looking down. Their eyes met and Mick couldn't decipher the expression Rowe gave him.

    Sorrow? Anger? Disappointment?

Not enough time to apologize to Rowen, to explain that, even though he loved the man with everything he had, fear paralyzed him, not allowing his love to win the battle raging within him.

Heavy footsteps crunched over the forest floor to Mick's right. The killer was there. Oh god, he would shoot Rowen next and Mick couldn't help him.

Mick's breath hitched, something wet and sticky ran from the corner of his mouth down his cheek to plop heavily on the dirt ground next to him. He fought for one more breath so he could
