Revenge is Sweeter

About this ebook
I was trained to become an ultimate killing machine. But unlike machines, I have no off switch.
I want revenge and I’m thirsty for blood.
I will hunt down Ryuu and his organization of assassins one by one in order to quench the thirst. Starting with the man I despise the most: Caleb Spencer.
Caleb will suffer and die, by my hand, a slow and tortuous death.
But first, I need to find a way to escape from enemy territory and the many guns pointed at my head.

Michelle Congdon resides in Sydney, Australia. She has a Dalmatian named Jett, who to this day continues to hold an 8 year grudge against her after she had to leave him with her parents when she moved to the big city- this only proves animals are much like their owners. Michelle enjoys reading books of all sorts of genres, watching way too many movies and TV shows (and Disney cartoons), singing out aloud to her favorite hits and going on adventures involving food and travel. Michelle is loud, talks a lot and shares an ever-growing list of fictional husbands with a friend. From when she was a small girl, she has always had an overactive imagination and has tried to put it to good use by sharing her stories with anyone willing to listen.

PROLOGUE
I knew it was a bad idea from the beginning, an idea that would most likely lead to our deaths, but I went along with it. Why? Because of Grady Tanner, of course. I’ve met nobody else like him. I’ve never cared for anyone else. These stupid things that normal humans call feelings have transformed me from the merciless killing monster I once was to somebody I almost don’t recognize. No matter how much I despise the idea, I’m unable to stop the way Grady makes me feel, and because of that, we are now currently being held at gun point by my father’s biggest rival and worst enemy, and the man whose son I murdered in cold blood. Mikhail Sokolov.
CHAPTER ONE
Do you think I’m stupid enough not notice when the woman responsible for my son’s death walks straight into my house?
Mikhail is staring at me with an expressionless stare. I can see how most fear him but I don’t. I should, considering the situation I’m currently in. One wrong move or word from me and he’ll order one, or all, of the many men with guns surrounding Grady and myself to riddle our bodies with metal. Unlike most people, I’m not afraid to die. It’s something I gamble with every day of my life, but right now, I have Grady’s life to think about.
I shrug in response. I was hoping you wouldn’t but I can’t have it my way all the time, I guess.
Even though I promised myself not to antagonize Mikhail, I can’t seem to help the words from slipping out.
I don’t take my eyes off Mikhail, but I can feel Grady’s eyes on me, burning my skin with his fury. I ignore the sensation. After all, he’s the one who put us in this situation in the first place. This can be some sort of payback.
"You think you’re in a position to joke around, little girl?"
Not really, but it’s pissing off my partner, so it’s all worth it.
I smirk, but the old man’s face doesn’t change.
Instead, Mikhail’s steel gaze turns to Grady. And you, young man, what is a member of the CIA doing with the adopted—
Stolen!
I shout out, causing all the guns to be suddenly aimed at me. I was kidnapped, not adopted,
I continue in a more appropriate ‘inside’ voice.
I stand corrected,
Mikhail adds, an intrigued smile on his face. "As I was saying, why are you with the daughter of one of America’s top criminal leaders? It doesn’t make sense to me."
It’s a long story, Mr. Sokolov,
Grady replies, his voice deceptively calm.
Mikhail glances down at his watch then back up at the both of us. I have the time. I do enjoy a little story, especially when it involves the woman I’ve wanted dead for so long.
Why is he doing this? Why is he delaying killing us? Unless…
