Journal entry#1: 12/26
Mom seems to think I need to express myself, so she’s bought me this journal. It’s one of my Christmas presents, but just between us I’d rather have received Legos. I am to write my thoughts in it every day, per her instructions. How does a person write about something she can’t explain? My therapists are in agreement with her. They are under the misconception that writing down my thoughts will somehow begin to heal me, as if I am broken. I’m not broken I am autistic. Maybe there’s not much difference, because I feel like shattered glass most days. There’s only one problem with their idea. This is the only I way can express myself, by writing songs. Speaking Emotions is what I like to call it. It’s my personal name for songs or poetry, I assume.
