Lucy Burton is a baking blogger, food stylist, wedding cake maker and recipe writer based in London. In March 2020, she started a postal cakes business selling boxes of brownies and blondies on Instagram. And in spite of lockdown restrictions lifting, she still sells out every week and has a waiting list for boxes. Since training at Leith's School of Food and Wine in 2017, her recipes have featured in The Telegraph, The Sun, The Guardian, OK! Magazine and The Sunday Mirror. She has also worked with brands such as Nature's Finest Fruit, Rachel's Organic and Green & Blacks on custom recipe development, both to feature on her baking blog Pudding Lane and for use across their own websites and channels. Minnesota Winter is a short novella about a woman named Amber who makes a last ditch effort to escape an abusive marriage by changing her identity and running for her life. Her father, in his will, sets the means for her to escape and she takes it. Scott is hired by her father’s attorney to protect and assist Amber in her new Minnesota home.

In this short novella Lucy Burton conveys the desperation and character growth of a woman who is willing to take the risk to escape an abusive relationship and maybe even heal her heart. Minnesota Winter is a well written and an enjoyable story.
