It is amazing how much depth of character was included in such a short story. I read this in one afternoon, but thoroughly enjoyed it. You get involved with the characters right from the start and want to read more. Ending was different than expected, which made the story more enjoyable (I did not find it predictable or like any other I have read from the genre).I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The one the best BDSM erotica and most heart-wrenchingly beautiful love story I have ever read. There's a sequel story to this one posted on Reisz's website (see comments for link).

    And she did it again!

No matter how short the story or how much BDSM or sex there is (which is usually really, really well written), Tiffany Reisz is always reaching my heart and Seven Day Loan is no exception.

The writing is beautiful, the characters awesome and even with a short story of 41 pages, she manages to render I'm rendered speechless.

Love Nora. Love Daniel. Still worshipping the floor Tifanny Reisz walks on.

So, so good! Seven Day Loan is a seductive short story, about an hour of reading. Though a quick read, emotionally it really packs a punch! This is the story of Eleanor, the submissive of a man who "loans" her to a friend named Daniel for a week. Since his wife's death over three years ago, Daniel has not left his house. His friend (we never learn his name) believes that grief-stricken Daniel (also a Dom) would benefit from a week of Eleanor's attention. Eleanor is rather perturbed her master would leave her alone with Daniel for that long, but she reluctantly agrees.

I became attached to these intriguing characters from the beginning. Eleanor was bright, witty, and a bit bitchy at times. She is a self-professed "bibliophiend" and works in a bookstore, so right away I loved her. She discovers that Daniel's love of books is equal to her own. He's a librarian. Much of their week was spent reorganizing his personal library and having kinky sex, so I was in heaven!

Though the sex scenes were hot, it was the emotional depth of the characters that sucked me into the story. The characters were so well-written. With this being a short story, I was so impressed that the author could put the reader inside the characters' minds so well. Daniel's obvious pain of losing his wife. The conflict Elenor felt at the thought of choosing between her master and Daniel. I had to gasp (literally) when it was revealed who, or better yet, what Eleanor's master was. Oh, Eleanor. *shakes head* The ending? Touching, for sure. Not what I was expecting, but satisfying still. I'm on the lookout for more by this author, hoping that more of Eleanor and Daniel's story is yet to be told.

Oh Tiffany, you make me love Nora more and more. By far one of the best characters I have EVER read about. She is complex in so many ways. Part of me wished she would have strayed from Soren after the end of this. Daniel was a temptation I wouldn't be able to refuse

Not so much romance as erotica. I think I may have missed something. Maybe it is something to do with The Siren (which I haven't read yet)? I definitely got the sense that this was related to another book. I think I would have had a better connection if I had understood the context more clearly but as it was, it felt a bit like a mid book excerpt rather than a complete story. There was something a bit unsavory and unsettling about Eleanor's background and primary relationship. Daniel seemed nice enough but I wasn't 100% sure about Eleanor's ability to give consent.

I decided to read this one before The Siren. I’ve heard great things, but also things that have made me a little wary. I thought this would help me get a look at the Tiffany Reisz’s style. There was a lot of sex, but a little depth too. I really liked Daniel, despite his sadness. There was a small peak into his personality, which is difficult to achieve in an erotic short story. Also, he was a librarian, and that always gets bonus points from me. Eleanor was witty, and I loved that about her. The ending wasn’t exactly what I wanted, but I think it worked. It was appropriate. Bring on The Siren!

Tiffany, oh wonderful Tiffany, you do love to write a mind game of a BDSM story don’t you. I have to admit, that I read The Siren before all these earlier stories, so I came in already knowing the ‘secret’. Everyone seems to have this hot and heavy issue with the ‘secret’. Perhaps it is because I’m an atheist, or perhaps it is that I am a total fan of The Thorn Birds, I just don’t care. Love is love. It is really hard to mess around with something that the universe has destine to happen. With that being said, we enter Daniel. A Master out of practice after the death of his wife and slave; I feel for this man. I have to say that if my Sir and husband died, I would be hard pressed to even want to find someone else. So for me, that was personal. I got it. Why Soren felt the need to mind game his friend out of seclusion. Now, I have to say, these books are hard for me. It is a whole lot of telling me that something happened, without actually showing me something happened. Reisz has such a knack with story telling that you stop caring that there is telling me that fisting happened, without actually giving me that whole scene in vivid detail. This was one of the less impressive stories in the series. I got the mind game, I liked the mind game, if Soren is anything, he is clever. Yes, it hits a trigger, because Reisz also doesn’t give you the whole cake. You can look at it, but you can’t eat it. And I am left writing a review that tells you guys NOTHING other than it was great story telling, because to say anything else would give the game away!

At twenty-three years of age, I would have hoped pouting would be far behind you, Eleanor.

Eleanor turned her face to the car window and rolled her eyes. She didn’t pay any attention to the soft winter woods rolling past her; she simply didn’t want him to see her childish response to his rebuke. She was in enough trouble with him already. Him—she wouldn’t even think or speak his name.

I’m not pouting…sir. She delayed adding the term of respect for as long as safely possible. Pouting is what I do when you send me to bed without supper. You’re leaving me for a week and just pawning me off on some stranger. Pouting is not what this is.

She heard him sigh and felt a tug of sympathy that she quickly forced aside. She knew she was being difficult, but he was being impossible.

Then what is it? he asked.

Eleanor kept her jaw tight. Righteous indignation.

Righteous indeed, he said. You realize that Daniel is only a stranger to you, he reminded her, but Eleanor only stared out the window again. Daniel…something. She didn’t even know his last name or anything about him. He was rich apparently. He’d sent a limo to bring her to him. She’d thought the limo was a little ridiculous, but at least it gave her the privacy to vent her frustration at him during the whole drive. He is an old and dear friend, he continued. One of the best men I have ever known. As I’ve told you before, his wife died nearly three years ago. He’s been something of a recluse ever since.

So giving me to him to fuck for a week is supposed to mend his poor broken heart? she challenged. You must think I’m pretty damn good in bed.

Although considerable, it’s hardly your prowess in the bedroom that I imagine will help Daniel return to the outside world again. I merely wish you to keep him company while I’m away. Whether or not he chooses to sample your talents is his decision.

So I don’t get a say?

Eleanor started at the sound of the tinted window separating them from the driver being raised. But she wasn’t surprised when he grabbed her by the knees and wrenched her toward him. She ended up on her back stretched across the dark leather of the seat, his hands lifting her skirt and prying her thighs apart. With two fingers he penetrated her quick and hard.

Who do you belong to? he demanded, his voice quietly threatening.

She forced herself to breathe, forced herself to meet his eyes—eyes gray and ominous as a rising storm.

You, sir, she answered through teeth gritting against the sudden violation.

And this, he said, spreading his fingers open inside her. She felt herself growing wet at his touch and had to curse her betraying body for being so endlessly responsive to him. Who does this belong to?

You, sir.

Mine to keep?

Yes, sir.

Mine to give away?

She swallowed before answering. Yes, sir.

"And mine to come
