Emmy and Caleb were shocked to see Emmy’s cat Wendy jumping on Ashley and clawing her with all her might. Ashley screamed and Emmy tried to take Wendy off of her. Wendy obliged, but she just wouldn’t stop hissing.

Emmy was getting more and more confused as to why Wendy was so agitated with Ashley, even more agitated than when she’s around Caleb.

Minutes earlier, she was trying to figure out what happened the night that Caleb’s wife, Rose, died. She was this close to finding out the truth, although she knew that Caleb was still hesitant, but somehow, he was willing to help when Ashley arrived.

Wendy, stop, come on. Emmy said as she petted Wendy. She stood up and faced Ashley and tried to be as apologetic as possible. If she learned anything over the years, it was that you have to keep your enemies closer than you keep your friends. You need to get through to them, try to understand where they’re coming from, and use what you’ve learned against them. Emmy always had a bad feeling about Ashley, and now she feels that she has every right to feel that way, especially after what Wendy has done.

I’m so sorry. Emmy said. Are you okay? I could take you to the doctor…

Oh, no, don’t bother. Ashley said, smoothing out her lacy red dress. She then looked at Emmy and had a curious smile on her face. You’re Emilia Byrne, right, the daughter of Caleb’s business partner, and, the same Emilia Byrne who kicked Lena McMahon away from Sky Valley?

Emmy laughed. Yes, I’m that Emmy.

Ashley held out her hand for a handshake. I’m Ashley. I’m not sure if Caleb has told you about me but…

Really, Emmy saw that Ashley’s face spoke a thousand kinds of confusion. Wow. Uh, so what did you hear?

So, anyway, Emmy said, I’m really sorry. Wendy can be crazy at times, but she’s usually nice. Are you sure you’re okay?

I’m fine, Ashley smiled. Nothing I couldn’t handle. She chuckled. And, I guess your cat just noticed that I’m not really a cat person. In fact, even Caleb’s kitten hates me. She’s this little white ragdoll and she’s super catty. She laughed.

You have a cat? Emmy asked Caleb.

That’s probably the reason why. Ashley said. I mean… Caleb and I have been friends for a long time and I have to say, he’s confided in me a lot that when Rose was alive, she’d rather spend time with their kitten, Olivia, instead of taking care of Caleb. You’re a cat person so, you’ll probably understand her but you know… Ashley trailed off then spoke again. Anyway, Olivia was right there in Rose’s room when her body was found by the police suspended on the ceiling. That’s so heartbreaking. Emmy knew that there was a lot of sarcasm in Ashley’s voice and she also realized that Ashley was saying all those things to agitate Caleb but why?

Ashley, stop. Caleb said with a hint of pleading and anger in his voice. This is not the time…
