About this ebook
In a world where vampires rule and humans serve, Isaac, first-made of the Clan Stormshade spends his nights stirring up intrigue for his maker's amusement. Deeply embarrassed by his own lack of telepathic abilities, a skill all other vampires possess, he continually strives to prove himself worthy of his immortality and his high-ranking position in the clan. He is so obsessed with pleasing his prince that he cannot see how he is hurting those around him, particularly his psychic counterpart and lover, Cyrene. Their fiery and passionate relationship is made more dangerous through his sexual deviancy, and Isaac, with his thrill-seeking drives and vampiric nature is on the verge of taking things too far.
Isaac then seduces a human pawn called Althea and inveigles her in his games. He charges her with a fake mission that will stir up the Red Brotherhood, a faction dedicated to ending the vampires' dominion over humans, into revolt. His meddling in their affairs will cause a chain reaction that will have dire consequences for those he loves best. In time, he will come to understand that even for immortals, nothing lasts forever, and that the things we love most can be taken from us in the blink of an eye.
Isaac has played the turncoat hero to deceive the pawns he uses in his plots: can he now rise to the occasion when true disaster strikes and his neglected clansmen – and his lover - need him the most?
