Dear Reader,
Are you ready for spring? It’s time for the snow to melt, the grass to green and the flowers to bloom. It’s crazy how cooped up we’ve all felt this winter. Fortunately, I have a great cure for the cooped up blues—how about a little ROAR to get your spring going?
The genre of paranormal romance has grown by leaps, shifts, fangs, and fur. I’ve always had a soft spot for shifter romance, and if you told me a book had wolves or cats or bears in it—well, I am so there. This hasn’t changed, not one bit. I don’t think there’s enough shifter romance in the world, and I always want to see more.
ROAR invites you to find out what happens when young shifters leave their packs? What if they go off to school? How do they start over? How does a young wolf or cat or bear or any young person really make that final leap to adulthood?
Decadent ROAR answers those questions. The line is dedicated to featuring stories about young weres and shifters who have come of age but now must determine the path of the rest of their lives. It's an exciting time of making your own decisions and not having to seek permission, but freedom always comes with a cost. Fortunately for these burgeoning adults, they have the ROAR hotline to reach out to.
Run by the mysterious siblings Hui and Min, 555-ROAR is a line shifters can text or call for help, whether it’s, What’s the best spot to hunt, or I’m in danger. What should I do? It’s a helpline, and a lifeline in some cases. Growing up is hard—being an adult is harder.
We’ve got some great new books coming to you this year! We’re kicking it off with Craving Cameo by T.L. Reeve. A wolf with a personal axe to grind, and the need to stand on her own two feet, Cameo crossed a continent to escape her pack and go to school. Too bad she’s never been able to forget the longing she feels for Quade, an older wolf in her pack. When she finds herself the target of an ugly bounty, she will need all the help she can get—even from the wolf she swore she’d never call again.
Can you imagine the cat on the prowl for his ‘destined’ mate overlooks you at first because you’re hot house mate is also present? The crushing blow to the ego aside, mates need to treat each other well and being fated doesn’t always lead to mated. Return to Shifter U with Brandy Walker. Austin will have to work hard to reclaim Tess in Changing her Tune.
Speaking of returns, Cara Carnes dares us to return to Wolf Hall where Lane faces some hard choices. Riles’s (Phoenix Rising) sister Xandra is keeping a thousand secrets, not the least of which is the love and need she feels for Alpha Lane. Can they find love and overcome her enemies? Does Xandra have a chance at a real fresh start? Lane makes his play for Xandra in Phoenix Crossing
Ultimately, the question these three stories must answer is not who will they be as adults, but who are they? How do they reconcile everything they've ever known with what can be? It's a new type of shifter romance, with all the love and passion required to achieve a happily ever after....
Don’t miss a single moment.
Happy Reading!

~Dedication~
A special thank you to Heather Long and Decadent Publishing for taking a chance on Cameo and Quade. You Rock! To Rhonda and Robyn, thank you for being kick ass beta readers. Not only did you help me see the mistakes, you gave me perspective in places I really needed it. To my mom, thank you for shoving food under my nose when I haven’t eaten all day. Thank you for telling me to go to bed when I write into the wee hours of the morning. I love you.
Chapter One
"Hey, girl. You up for a burger at Tommy’s tonight?" Felicia slid into the seat next to Cameo in the lecture hall. Her best friend’s curly brown-and-amber-streaked hair fell around her shoulders, enhancing her stunning shade of mocha skin and bright almond-shaped chocolate hued eyes. Her father would have termed her best friend a classic beauty, and she agreed. If she were honest with herself, Cameo envied her. Sometimes she wished she garnered the same attention her friend did.
At least it would take my mind off of him.
When she met Felicia during orientation the summer before their freshman year, they became fast friends. Felicia got her wit and sarcasm. By the time they left the auditorium, they acted more like sisters than virtual strangers.
I don’t know, Fe. I have a few papers I need to write.
As a junior, she’d doubled her course load in order to graduate early with her bachelor’s degree, and get a start on her master’s. As long as Daddy footed the bill, she might as well use it to the best of her ability. Still, she suffered with a case of procrastination. Why do today, what you can do tomorrow? If Daddy ever found out how bad her study habits were, despite straight A’s, her father would be pissed. Idle hands are the devil’s playground, girl. Better wisen up.
Alpha of the Sentinel pack and Motorcycle Club, Drake Cruz, aka Daddy, ran a tight ship. They made their money on the right side of the law—mostly working with the police department on missing persons cases, along with owning a few motorcycle repair shops. People looked up to her father and so did she, in a way. However, he became a dog with a bone—literally—when it came to her settling down and mating. Not happening.
So, she ran all the way to the Pacific coast and Washington State. Within days, she enrolled at Washington State College and set about figuring out what she wanted to do with her life. If she were in the pack still, she would have become a trophy wife and the face of her daddy’s pack. The pretty seat cover to a greasy biker…. No she wasn’t being fair. Daddy’s pack had nice-looking wolves, but only one revved her engine, and he’d made it perfectly clear she’d never get a piece of him…ever. When her father figured out she was serious about school, he paid everything, along with an allowance so she didn’t have to worry about working while she studied.
Hello, Earth to Cameo.
Felicia’s hand waved in front of her face, trying to get her attention.
She lifted her gaze to her best friend. Huh? Sorry.
She frowned. What did you say?
Yep, your ass definitely needs to go out.
She smirked. I said, why don’t we hit the new biker bar across town? You could invite, Randy.
As a one-night fling, Randy would never get a second date. She didn’t care about his major, or whether he had a family or siblings. All she cared about involved getting laid. Well, he wasn’t even good at sex. It would be easier if she forgot about him and moved on. The quicker the better. Like someone else you know?
She cringed. Nope, not going to happen. The last time we tried, we almost got our asses handed to us by those damn sweetbutts. I’m not doing that shit again.
Their only saving grace had been her father’s name, and even then, they were told never to return to the bar. This is what’s wrong with society, men rule with their dicks. If they’re not getting sucked or fucked, they act like they’re dying.
Anyway,
she added, changing the subject. Did you hear Professor Black got caught sucking face with some first year in the English department’s broom closet? Okay, so maybe it wasn’t technically a broom closet, but still.
I see what you’re doing. It’s not going to work with me.
Her best friend cut her gaze to her while the teacher took her place behind the podium. The class, though required, didn’t hold her attention span any more than it held Felicia’s. Thankfully, it didn’t count toward her degrees.
Yeah, well….
She waved Felicia off. All those bikers were too old for us anyway. Plus, they had beer guts and missing teeth. Excuse me for wanting someone who can actually smile. Now, if you’re serious about going to grab burgers, what time do you want to head out?
Felicia pursed her lips and sighed. Four thirty, I have a late art class tonight. We’re painting nudes.
Cameo perked up. Check me out. I still know how to get your attention.
She laughed softly. The professor said to be ready to spend hours on each of the subjects.
Her best friend made grabby hands. I intend to spend some quality time with my model.
She laughed, drawing the attention of several students around them and the professor. Sorry,
she mouthed then cleared her throat and whispered, You did it on purpose.
Felicia shrugged. Maybe, maybe not.
