About this ebook
What Is War? uses an innovative combination of story and discussion to expands our understanding of the moral dilemmas inherent in the act of war, on both the personal and national level. Based on G. Lowell Tollefson’s experiences as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam and his philosophical reflections since then, this book has implications for America’s current and future conflicts. It asks us to look honestly at the hard questions about war: Why do nations go to war? Is war ever just? What attitudes and actions are reasonable to expect of our warriors?
