Explanation of What Follows
Hello. My name is Vivian St. Clair. I have a twin brother named Elliot. As this story begins, we are fifteen.
If you have read the Folio, the First, then you may wish to skip ahead to Chapter 1, since the rest of this prologue will be very familiar to you.
This story starts in 1844, in our flat in London, England at 13 Ash Lane. But you will learn more about that as you continue to read.
Much has happened and much has changed since I first wrote my journals so many years ago. Times are very different now. I have since gone back and re-read my journals, and put each one in terms of a folio, to make them better understood, and to fill in a few blanks from my memory. What follows here is a folio based on my original journal, which is slightly less
