Review

“Israel, an American ally, allows their veterans access to marijuana for the treatment of PTSD and TBI. Yet America does not. “The First 12 Months of Modern American Marijuana Reform” does a fantastic job at illustrating, among other things, how the War on Drugs has negatively impacted those who were willing to die for their country. This draconian public policy and its consequences is a stain not easily removed from the American soul.”

Description
"Green: The First 12 Months of Modern American Marijuana Reform" is the story of what changed and where over the course of a momentous year for marijuana legalization in the United States (if not overseas). The style the book takes is a journalistic diary, examining both day-to-day events and the over-arching themes that they effect if not are affected by.

In addition to covering major events in political, legal, regulatory, financial and medical reform, the book also examines the nascent legalizing industry. Interviews with founders and leaders of some of the best-known brands and companies in the vertical are also mixed with the voices of reform advocates to tell the gripping stories that played around the edges of mainstream news, if not the new industry press all year.

From market start in Colorado through the summer's political wrangling on the Hill to the mid terms in November 2014, "Green" puts the events, successes, forward reforms and failures into perspective of the larger picture of reform.
