About this ebook

Why is it that despite the best of intentions, I hurt other people in my life? Why is it that a good man has to suffer pain and a rogue gets off unpunished?
Why does a good and kind couple, helpful to others, get a little baby that is damaged severely in the brain at birth? Why do innocent people suffer at the hands of mass murderers and warmongers? Why do many people escape suffering even in the midst of the worst disaster? These answers come only by understanding the Science of cause and effect to this mind-body complex which we call 'my' body. That Science is the Science of Karma.

Gnani or Jnani is the One who has known, is in the experience of the eternal Self. Purush means the Self. Akram Vignan means that which is attained without doing anything, and the science behind this. A gentleman by the name of Ambalal M. Patel became a Gnani Purush in June 1958. This happened spontaneously within him. The absolute light of the Self prevailed in him from that time. In that state of the absolute Self, he became the instrument for the salvation of the world. The words that came out through his medium, have become words that are now liberating hundreds of thousands of human beings who were seeking meaningful solutions for their pains. These satsang sessions of the Gnani Purush happened in Gujarati between 1962 to 1988, and were carefully preserved and are presented as they are, in many different languages. They are all in the form of questions and answers from Gnani Purush Dadashri.

This book, The Science of Karma has been compiled by Atmagnani Dr.Niruben Amin, in Gujarati, with the title ‘Karma nu Vignan.’ She carefully preserved the spoken words of Gnani Purush Dadashri and has presented His Akram Vignan to the world through many books. This is the English version of one of those books.

This book will give very clear and deep insights about the purpose of human existence, the role and goal of a human being in life, the reason why there is pain and suffering in life, and the way to decrease suffering and also how to be eternally free from from any suffering. After reading this book which is a gift from the Gnani Purush, you will begin your journey to meaning freedom in life.

I really appreciate you reading this book! Here are my social media coordinates:

Does One Act According To One’s Free Will Or Is It Happening

Dadashri: Do you ever find that you are forced to do something against your wishes? Does it happen?

    Questioner:   Yes, that does happen.

Dadashri:  What is the reason for that?  You do not wish to and yet you have to.  It is the effect of karma done in your past life.

People believe this effect to be the cause.  They do not understand the previous life effect at all.  If anything done in this life was a cause, then why would you do something against your will? Furthermore, why would you say, ‘I did it’, when you did not want to do it in the first place?  Why do people say you did it’ also?  People call all visible actions to be the same as doing the karma.  They will say ‘I did a good deed today and so created a good karma today’. Whereas the Gnani Purush knows that all visible acts of this life are an effect.

Who Sent You To This Earth?

Questioner:  Are we born of our own will or are we sent here?

Dadashri:  No one sends you here.  It is your karma that takes you to places where your rebirth takes place immediately.    If your karma are good, you will be born in a good place and if they are bad, you will be born in a bad place.

What Is The Principle Of Karma?

Questioner:  What is the definition of karma?

Dadashri:  When you are doing any work and you support that action, with the words, ‘I am doing it’, that is karma. To support the action with the belief  ‘I am the doer’ is called binding the karma. It is this support of the belief of ‘doer-ship’ that binds karma. If you know ‘I am not the doer’ and ‘ who is the doer’ then the action will not have any support and the
