About this ebook
(SHORT STORY) This is another one of my stories that is based on a dream I had. Two, actually. In the same night, I recorded two dreams in my journal. One was basically the theater scene, the other the top of the building scene. Although dark and intriguing, neither seemed to have anything to do with the other, so they sat stagnant and ignored for a while. Then when I picked them out again, I had a flash of inspiration, the link uniting the two concepts: A pre-apocalyptic World War Three city.

You know that feeling when you first wake up where your mind is a blank slate? Everything is perfect, timeless, carefree; you are a container waiting to be filled, and the world is peaceful. Then after a moment, your memories well up and fill in the canvas for you. We're at war. My wife slept somewhere else tonight. I wonder if some sociology department somewhere has studied the effect of the new T-RAIL transit system on marital fidelity.
Then again, it doesn't really matter anymore. We're at war. There hasn't been a war on U.S. soil in over two
