He was born with a severe hearing loss which progressed to almost total deafness in his late 20s. In 1999 he was the recipient of an experimental cochlear implant which was undergoing clinical trials in the United States prior to formal FDA approval.Daryl resides in the Atlanta, Georgia area with his wife and two children.view less
