About this ebook
Socrates has a gift, a power even he doesn't fully understand.
But old Gert, who feeds the pigeons in Gustav's Park, understands.
Pretty Jamie, who works at the Bird Emporium, understands.
And the old Indian chief who wears a strange, two-sided bird mask, he understands too.
As does the ancient, angry spirit called the Thunderbird and about a million of Wellington County's feathered creatures...
They know what Socrates Singer really is.
And they know what he can do...

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Socrates Singer is a loner. He’s just graduated from High School, has a job at the food court at the mall. He spends most of his free time trying to avoid the local bullies: Frankie Bottinelli and his cronies, Grinder and Duffman. After a strange and startling incident with the pigeons at Gustav park, Socrates gets a pet parrot and discovers he has a way with birds. His talent leads to startling discoveries that lead him and his friends into a nightmare that will leave none of them untouched.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5If you weren't afraid of birds before, you will be now. Ken Goldman does an excellent job of drumming up fear with this book. It's an engaging story, and you'll be looking over your shoulder the entire time you read it. You will not put this one down. The beginning takes a moment to come into focus, but once it does,it hits the ground running, taking you with it!**I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to the author and/or publisher.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A chilling tale of birds, revenge, magic and the Wakinyan an ancient Oglala Indian Thunderbird god of justice.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A great, creepy, old-school dark fantasy tale.A teen with a strange connection to birds, and an ancient entity. This story reminded me of Willard and Ben in a lot of ways, but it had a more satisfying supernatural crunch to it. And let's face it - we all love seeing bullies get their just rewards.
