Reviews for Dragon's Breath

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5More fun fluff. Eadric was almost intolerable at the beginning of this story, and had improved greatly by the end - he was actually talking to Emma, now and then, rather than pulling the Prince card (or going off to eat something - he might even have learned a lesson about that). Poor Grassina - and Haywood, for that matter. Emma is making some excellent friends - from Ralf the dragon to the various witches. And we learn more about how this world works, and more about the various characters - Emma is going to have an even more interesting time with her powers, now that they've been boosted. Nice setup for the next book, and I will be reading it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The second in the series about Emma and Eadric, this is just as good as the first book. Emma comes into her own a bit more and realizes that she's not as hapless as she's always been told.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Emma and Eadric are taken on another wild ride as they try to change Grassina's belvoed Haywood from otter to man. They must find four rare items- magic beans, feather of a horse, a green dragon's breath, and a gossemer hair form the mother-of -pearl. As they set on this quest, the two funny frogs/humans have many exciting and wondrous adventures. This is a very clever book. It kept me guessing even after it ended. It is the sequel to The Frog Princess. The next book in the series is Once Upon a Curse.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5book 2 in trilogy (1: the frog princess, 3: once upon a castle)funny, great
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Princess Emma and Prince Eadric are back in a humorous, fun-filled, and utterly charming adventure as they try to help Emma's aunt Grassina attempt to restore her otter beau back to human form. I enjoyed this second book of the series more than the first.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Dragon's Breath was not quite as good as the first book, but it was still very funny and I did enjoy myself reading it. Again, there was nothing inappropriate in this book and it would make a great family read aloud!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Dragon's Breath by E.D. Baker is the second of the Frog Princess books. Emma and Eadric are back to human form, and having a celebratory breakfast with Aunt Grassina, the Green Witch. But she is too distracted by the return of her long lost love who is now a talking otter. To get Grassina's mind back in the game, Emma and Eadric decide to find the cure to Haywood's curse. Why not? they figure. They've already solved their own curse! More or less. Turns out that if Emma sneezes, she and Eadric become frogs again temporarily.Curses are a fairly common thing in Emma's world, especially since she's royalty and destined to be the next Green Witch. Curses come in different degrees depending on how annoyed the person who made the curse was when making it. The worst of the curses involve either a nearly impossible task or a nearly impossible to find ingredient. In the case of Haywood's curse, it's a rare ingredient Ñ the breath of a green dragon.Dragon's Breath is a chance to explore beyond the bounds of the swamp and to learn more about the role of the Green Witch and the burden of her curse.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This second book of the series was much more enjoyable than the first. Though I still feel that Emma is a bit too juvenile, this story was funny and interesting. There were many more secondary characters introduced throughout the tale and they were all pleasant and fun to read about. I think I liked this one more because it actually felt like there was a plot going on. Emma and Eadric help Grassina search for the items needed to turn her beloved Haywood back into a human after 20+ years as an otter. Their search introduces them to a number of interesting creatures. I definitely feel better about the series after having read the second book and will continue it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Tales of the Frog Princess, book two.Emma and Eadric have regained their human forms (mostly), but their troubles are far from over. Emma's aunt Grassina is ignoring her duties as the Green Witch because all she can think about is finding a way to return her fiancee, Haywood to HIS human form. Grassina's mother turned him into an otter years before. Grassina has finally found him, but he is still an otter.Emma and Eadric race against time to retrieve the items they need to reverse the spell. Meanwhile, the neighboring country decides to take advantage of the situation and invade Emma's kingdom. A surprising twist at the end of the story paves the way for book number three in this entertaining series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Even better than the first. Cute, sweet, of course. But also exciting, with some substantial ideas about romance, dedication, courage, etc. I compared the first to spun sugar, this one is more like meringue. I'm excited to read the rest of the series to see if they get even more solid.
