Chapter One

Almost finished, and just in time. Jayden glanced at his watch as he carefully unwrapped the last piece from the crate in front of him. He had barely enough time to finish his inventory on the new collection before Jen arrived. If he made her late tonight, of all nights, she would never forgive him.

He still couldn't believe Jen snagged the biggest bash of the year. Every year, the richest guy in town, Mr. Reginald Benson, threw an over-the-top Halloween party, always selecting a unique theme each time, never repeating the same one twice. This year he had decided to go all out and throw an ancient Roman banquet worthy of Julius Caesar himself. Being an assistant museum curator, Jen came to him for help in everything from the furniture layout to an authentic menu, substituting modern dishes only when necessary. She didn't think that dormice drizzled in honey would go over very well with Mr. Benson or his guests.
