Children’s Virtues
A is for Attitude
The virtues that lie inside of me are wonderful, special and as you can see, I'm still a small child, but I'm coming to know that I'm just becoming all that I can be. A is for Attitude, in all that I do, I know I can do it, because you told me I could, I'm so good at learning, and being so good. My attitude tells you the way that I feel it's just like a mirror to allow you to see, the things that I like and the things that I don't. I promise to do my very best to have a good attitude in all that I do, when you tell me to pick up my toys, I won't argue.
When I'm feeling happy, you see in my smile, my attitude is good and I'm glad all the while. The bluebirds are flying and singing their song, their attitude is like mine as they fly along. they swirl and they twitter and make me feel glad, just hearing them singing when I'm feeling bad.
The bees all abuzz on the flowers I see, they're gathering pollen to make their honey. They're happy and flying while doing their work, but when I start to chase them, they get very angry, and when they're not happy, they're actually scary. I like when their attitude is happy and light, because they won't sting me and then I won't cry. It's easy to see, like the birds and the bees, how a very good attitude benefits me.
Sometimes I feel grumpy, and act like I don't care, and some days I can't do anything with my hair, When I stub my toe or fall down the stairs, If I am not careful, my attitude glares. We all have our bad times, that make us feel sad, or angry or upset or just plain old bad. But we can remember all the good things we have, like puppies and kittens and great moms and dads. And when we think of them, we know in our heart, that having a bad attitude will break their hearts.
So I will try hard to be happy and glad, and watch out for my attitude when I am sad. It's okay to feel bad or even to cry, as long as my attitude doesn't get bad. Because of my attitude I am so nice, because it's my virtue instead of my vice.
