) is a German fairy tale first recorded by the Brothers Grimm in 1812 and first translated into English in 1823 by Edgar Taylor. The tale has been told and retold many times and with many different variations. In addition to the tale having survived for over 200 years, the character of the frog has appeared in modern stories as well, including the animated movie Shrek 2.
It is a story that still speaks to people of all ages today and is a wonderful tale that teaches valuable lessons.
