And differences only you can make.’

This e-book has been written based on our journey transforming our nonverbal Autistic son into a fully verbal, interactive and conversing individual. It was originally designed to enable and empower parents and guardians of nonverbal ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) individuals to implement a unique interactive and structured speech program.

Using this e-book you will be guided with precise detailed instructions to teach your child to talk in an interactive manner using your iPad or Tablet, devices to which autistic children seem intuitively attracted. The step-by-step e-book format is easy to follow, written specifically for people who wish to work with autistic individuals as an alternative or in addition to employing the services of speech pathology professionals. It is intended to equip you with tools and techniques to help your child to speak using tactile visual feedback (TVF), a unique methodology that is developed around the child matching visual and tactile cues to the vibrational frequencies of his or her parents’ voices.

We designed this book to help parents, guardians, and caretakers to both teach ASD children and give them the benefit of receiving speech therapy sessions on a daily basis. By being provided with the therapeutic tools outlined in this e-book, your speech impaired children can receive this unique brand of therapy in a loving environment at home.

    Foreword

The number of children diagnosed with neurological disorders such as Autism has increased significantly in recent years. In the 1990s, one in every 10,000 children was diagnosed with Autism. Since then the incidence has increased exponentially - today 1 in every 88 children is diagnosed as within the spectrum. Many of these children are considered non-verbal and many are left to live their lives isolated in their own inner worlds, unable to communicate. To help them talk, daily speech therapy is essential.

This goal is attainable with the right methodology and appropriate tools, in addition to much patience, perseverance, love, understanding, and most importantly, respect for the child.

Many parents are not trained to work with their nonverbal children, so when they try the experience can be overwhelming. Teaching a nonverbal child to speak can be extremely difficult. In addition, speech therapy on a daily basis using outside agencies is very expensive. This is the primary reason why we wrote this e-book: to share our experiences with parents who will be performing speech therapy with their children. In this e-book, we give instructions explaining in detail precisely what you need to do to teach your child speech, as we have done with our previously nonverbal Autistic child who now speaks and converse with us. It was written for those who are committed to helping their speech-impaired child to talk.

This is a concise ‘hands–on’ practical manual that explains in detail:

    - What procedures to use

    - How to work with the child on a day to day basis

    - How best to teach and assist the child in progressively recognizing, developing, and verbalizing the necessary sounds, letters, and words required to build language skills.

You are given lessons to teach the child. In addition, you are also given tools and ideas to expand and teach beyond the lessons taught here. I have observed over the years that the majority of nonverbal children are able to read even before they speak, and they seem to learn better when visual cues are used. The methods used in this book emphasize visual input, as the
