It had been three long years since Alistair had seen beyond the confines of the dungeons. The foul stenches of rotting flesh and mold had grown tolerable as he endured endless torture each day. Before his capture, Alistair had been a valiant knight who had sworn to defend the King of the South, but his failure to protect the southern shores from invading orcs had cost him his freedom. Now, he was nothing more than a prisoner of war, who was beaten daily for information regarding human strongholds and battle strategies. Alistair had almost given up on dreams of going home; he knew the orcs would rather kill him than hand him over to his King. 

Until one day, when an unexpected prisoner arrived in the dungeons.

She was the most beautiful elf he’d ever laid eyes on. Her luscious auburn hair fell loose over her petite shoulders and complimented her emerald green eyes. Despite being stained with dirt, her studded leather body armor had a figure-hugging cut which accentuated her shape and made her voluptuous breasts almost spill out. With the iron bars eventually slammed shut, the elf sobbed silently into her quivering hands. Alistair knew what the orcs were capable of. They were vile creatures, gaunt and repulsive in appearance. Orcs didn’t know love, or compassion, only greed and anger. He feared for the girl, especially after watching so many men beg for mercy before his very eyes. 

Hey! Girl, girl, Alistair whispered loudly as he peered through the rusting iron bars.

Just… leave me alone, she replied, the sadness resonating in her voice.

What’s your name? Alistair tried desperately to get a response from the elf, but to no avail. 

Her body trembled as she continued to sob in secret. 

Hours began to pass as Alistair paced around his cell. He was a knight and it was his duty to protect this elf from the harm that would eventually befall her, but he didn’t know what to do.

Suddenly, footsteps echoed through the dungeon as a guard descended the steps. The jingling of his keys meant he had come for a prisoner, but which one? Alistair waited intently, as the footsteps grew louder and louder. His golden brown hair pressed hard against the wall, whilst his strong hands clenched tightly by his sides.
