    Chapter 1: Really…that’s the plan for our vacation?

    Time travel was way too exciting for the two brothers, Rohan and Neel to even dream about for their summer vacation. Their dad’s current plan for the summer vacation was to go to their ancestral village and connect with nature! While both Rohan and Neel loved Animal Planet and desperately wanted a puppy, connecting with nature in a remote village without video games or their favorite cartoons seemed like way too much of nature for them.

    Rohan was about nine years old and Neel was three years younger, and the two brothers lived in Mumbai, brought up on X-Box and iPad games and cartoons on Nick. They must have asked Dad at least ten times, Really Dad, what is the plan for our summer vacation? Each time dad had the same answer – let’s go to our village and connect with nature. Though, the brothers liked the fact that they would get to meet their Dada (Grandpa) and Dadi (Grandma) in the village, going weeks without Nick cartoons and X-Box was a daunting task. Their dad had told them lots of stories of this village and its history trying to get them interested in their roots but it was not having too much of an impact.

    Still, the story of the village went something like this - their great grandfather; Raja Prasad had settled in Bhojapur early in the 20thCentury. He was called as Rajaji by everyone, as a mark of respect. Almost 100 years back, Rajaji had reached Bhojapur from Varanasi. At that time he was a strapping young man looking for opportunities to do something of his own. The day he reached Bhojapur it was already quite late in the evening and he was famished. Close to the jungle, Raja saw a big bungalow. Outside the bungalow, an old woman was sitting sewing a sweater and chatting with some kids.

    He approached the old woman and with folded hands asked for food and shelter. He promised to help her out with any work she needed to get
