Silvia Violet

Silvia writes erotic romance in a variety of genres including contemporary, paranormal, and historical. She can often be found haunting coffee shops looking for the darkest, strongest cup of coffee she can find. Once equipped with the needed fuel, she can happily sit for hours pounding away at her laptop. Silvia typically leaves home disguised as a suburban stay-at-home-mom, and other coffee shop patrons tend to ask her hilarious questions like “Do you write children’s books?” She loves watching the looks on their faces when they learn what she’s actually up to. When not writing, Silvia enjoys baking sinful treats, exploring new styles of cooking, and reading children’s books to her incorrigible offspring.

    CHAPTER ONE

Rex forced himself to smile and nod at the story the woman in front of him was telling. The way she kept touching his arm and the intensity of her smile told him the direction things were moving. He’d have to let her down gently. Unfortunately, she seemed like the type who’d try to follow him upstairs no matter how firmly he stated he wasn’t interested.

All in all it had been a good day. The event Rex had put together to pitch his company, Grass Fed Texas, to restaurant owners in Southern Appalachia had gone over better than he could have hoped, especially when he’d been faced with convincing them to consider his products from out of state when there were local suppliers available. The fact that his company used biodiesel-powered trucks for deliveries and had processing done in a solar-powered facility helped, but he doubted anything he said mattered as much as the product itself. Rex had brought along the head chef from one of his family’s restaurants, and she’d wowed the crowd with her deceptively simple filet topped with horseradish cream sauce.

Eighteen-hour workdays had become the norm as Rex prepared for his presentation. He was thankful he’d added a day onto his trip so he could relax and explore Asheville before heading back to Austin. All he’d wanted to do after wrapping up the scheduled events was head upstairs to his hotel room where he could order room service, eat dinner in bed, and watch a movie filled with car chases and explosions.

Unfortunately, a few of the event participants wanted to have drinks with him after the question-and-answer session he’d hosted. They’d reconvened in the hotel bar, and Rex had tried not to show how much he longed to get away. One by one, the men and women asked their questions and said good-bye, assuring him they’d be in contact soon. Only Lucy Phillips remained. She had the porcelain beauty of an old-fashioned movie star. Her well-tailored designer clothes looked out of place among the mostly casually dressed small business owners who’d attended Rex’s presentation.

Looks weren’t the only thing she had going for her. She was intelligent, well spoken, and persistent. If he were attracted to women, she’d be perfect for him. He tried to listen to the anecdote she was telling him about her first days as a restaurant owner in Atlanta, but he was fading fast. Was there any way he could excuse himself without offending her?

    Mr. Aiken?

He turned to see Jordan, or J, as the other hotel staff called him. Jordan had been his primary contact at the hotel as he’d planned his event. For just a few seconds, Rex let himself stare at the gorgeous man. He’d been enamored of Jordan since their first phone conversation when Jordan’s sexy voice and easy manner made Rex want to get to know him better.

Jordan was in his mid to late twenties, probably eight to ten years younger than Rex. His short blond hair looked like it would curl if he let it grow, and his soft blue eyes drew Rex right in. He had a healthy tan, and Rex bet he spent a lot of time outdoors. He didn’t have the slender body of a runner, though. He must do some weightlifting or else the hotel had him doing a whole lot of physical labor to give him the sculpted arms that strained the sleeves of his polo shirt. His arms were works of art, and Rex really wanted to
