About this ebook

It was the shock of this disappointment, perhaps, coming soon after the loss of his wife, that had driven him crazy on that point, the barber suggested, with an air of great psychological insight. After a time the old man abandoned the active search. His son had evidently gone away; but he settled himself to wait.

Didn't hate it but I didn't love it either. Basically a father and a son who are as stubborn as each other and a woman who is stuck by the restriction of society ( I really hope she pushes her dad down the stairs sometime after this book finishes)

A short melancholic story about an old seaman waiting for his boy back and his tenant, a young girl caring about her despotic father who are so tired that they’re unable to change even when the opportunity comes.
