Short, sweet, sexy, and with some interesting interspecies dynamics, this shifter story made me laugh several times as the characters found their way into each other's hearts. For me, this story is a very promising start for a new series.

The idea of a wolf shifter becoming part of a lion pride alone is very promising. Matching the physically smaller wolf shifter, Adrian, with the almost overpowering lion shifter, Talan, makes for some interesting problems. Interestingly, the issue of a wolf getting along with a cat becomes minor pretty quickly. While I would have liked more exploration of that angle on one hand, I was pretty happy that the interpersonal dynamics took over. The focus was on Adrian's and Talan's personalities almost from the word go.

Adrian needs to prove, to himself as well as 'the world', more specifically, his mate, that he's not as weak as he seems. He's been overly protected by his older brother all his life, and doesn't want this to continue for the rest of his life. Luckily, he has a few aces up his sleeve that enable him to do this.

Talan is extremely possessive, and finds it hard to accept Adrian's need for self-sufficiency. I liked that he was so welcoming and warm, but was glad his sisters were there to knock some sense into him. He needed it!

If you like shifter stories, you'll like this one. It does assume you know a fair amount about them, so if you've never read one before, be ready for a few surprises. There's relatively little violence, though, since these are very 'civilized' shifters. I look forward to the next volume of the series.

I enjoyed this better than her Banded Brothers series. This book was a little corny at the end, but it was cute.

Contemporary, Paranormal, shapeshifters, m/mWashington StateAdrian is a wolf shifter that is sent to live with a pride of lions for his own safety. What Adrian doesn’t know that the alpha of the lions saw the picture of Adrian and knew they were mates. Now Adrian is being culled from his pack by Talan, the alpha of the pride.Talan now has six months to convince Adrian that they are meant to be. Talan is determined to persuade Adrian to stay with his pride forever but first Talan is going to have to take care of the psychotic wolf that is trying to kill Adrian. This is a start of series that starts out very well. The story is fun and humorous and moves at a fast pace. The characters are interesting and will have readers wanting to read more from this series. While the books might not be want some readers like those that enjoy this genre will find some great characters that they will want to visit again and again. It has action which makes for some funny reading as the character have some great personalities. This is definitely one to try. The only down side is that it isn’t a longer read.
