About this ebook

It is a city of fear. The entity known as the Exterminating Angel roams freely, spreading fear wherever it goes. Even the police Special Talents Unit known as the GOON SQUAD has proved helpless in the face of the supernatural terror. Bloodied but unbowed, the Squad plan their next move and try to penetrate the mystery of the entity's origin. Meanwhile, they are not alone in wishing the city to be freed from the Exterminating Angel. An old adversary is making his own plans, but where they and the Squad's intersect, will only the Angel rise triumphant?

GOON SQUAD is a "prose comic," an ongoing episodic story that unfolds in handy monthly issues. The story of the EXTERMINATING ANGEL began in GOON SQUAD #3.

    A Star in Strange Ways

    Previously in GOON SQUAD...

    ● A broken angel statue in a cemetery. An unrecognised Talent triggers.

    ● The stone angel's hand made a disappointingly small splash when it hit the Mersey. Aidan's head, following it a moment later, was a little more impressive.

There's another body... just over there. Cut in half. He swallowed shakily. Lengthways.

    ● So beautiful. She reached one hand out towards it.

    ● "No! No! Take it off! Take it back off! That was the price! That was the price!" And then, to their horror, Lisa tried to tear her arm off.

    ● There was blood down there. Lots of blood. And, as she started to decode the scene, understanding what she was really seeing, she made out the bodies.

    ● Ian's right arm parted midway between wrist and elbow and he watched in disbelief as his right hand, still holding the taser, whirled away to land in a planter.

Run! he shouted, or at least tried to shout. The word came out like a groan. Run, Nadiya, for Christ's sake, run!

    ● He was down and out of it, Talos was swanning around wherever it is war robots go to amuse themselves, Gilbert was stuck in traffic, and why weren't the police marksmen firing? Couldn't they see Puppet Girl was in trouble? Then he heard Nadiya speak. Just two words, hollow with emotion, and he knew they were spoken to the angel.

    Kill me.

It was the only just punishment. All the trouble she had caused, all the upset and
