About this ebook
After three years, Jace Montgomery is still grieving over his fiancee Stacy's mysterious suicide. He hasn't even been on a date since her passing, and her family still blames him for her death.
While flipping through one of her old paperbacks, Jace discovers a clipping stuck between the pages bearing the cryptic message, 'Ours again. Together forever. See you there.' The note is dated the day before her death. Possessed by the opportunity to possibly understand Stacy's suicide, Jace seeks out the property on the front of the clipping - Priory House, a big brick fortress in Margate - and buys it.
But Jace soon discovers that the house is haunted by a headstrong ghost, Ann Stuart. Ann died under circumstances similar to his late fiancee, and he begins to believe that there is a connection between the two. Through his investigations Jace is forced to reconcile his wife's life and her death. What follows is a satisfying and seductive discovery of both time and love by one of America's favourite storytellers.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Review for the unabridged audio version. This book was enjoyable enough to listen to in the car, but it did rather stretch my imagination when the characters started talking to ghosts! I also thought the ending was a bit weak and felt rushed. The audio version was well read by Stafford Clark-Price, though his idea of an English accent was a bit painful!Jace is madly in love with his fiance, Stacey, but while on a trip to England, just before their wedding, she dies under suspicious circumstances. Jace is determined to to find out what happened on the night of her death and when he finds evidence that she may have met up with someone that night, he travels back to Margate, UK, to investigate.Coming from a very wealthy family, he is able to buy the large haunted house where she was due to meet the unknown person. Priory House is rarely occupied, thanks to its resident ghost, but Jace seems unperturbed, in fact he courts the ghost in the hope of gaining information. When local reporter, Nigh, writes a slanderous piece about the village's new resident, Jace demands a retraction. What he gets is an assistant in his search for the truth. He is still grieving the loss of his fiance so he keeps Nigh at a distance romantically, but together thay unravel the events of that fateful night.Several glaring errors have been pointed out by previous reviewers, the fact that UK does not have £100 pound notes, being just one. But the use of the town named Margate, supposedly a village in this narrative, was the one that jarred with me most.On the whole a light summer read but not an author I would search out again.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This was a fun, light book. I don't feel it was her best work, it was predictable and a little slow starting. I wouldn't put this is the "don't miss it" category, but I would say to read it if you come across it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5much better than the usual paperback romance deveraux usually produces. i greatly enjoyed the romantic mystery/ghost story. high rating because it was impressively good for the genre, not because it's great literature.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I love Jude Deveraux and while this book was still worth reading I was disappointed by the ending.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I had to read this for the bookclub I belong to. They have to put up with the books that I recommend, authors like Margaret Atwood and Geraldine Brooks, so it’s only fair that I have to suffer through paranormal romance.Who invented this genre anway? I’ve never read one, but the formula is evident from this novel. There’s no explicit sex - there are descriptions of heaving chests and six-pack abs, but that’s about as far as it goes. The ghosts (the paranormal part) mean no harm - they are misunderstood, and want something, but they don’t steal souls and frighten to death. The dialog is corny and unrealistic - sort of a teenagers dream of what romantic dialog might be. The plot is full of holes, but who cares? The fans don’t read these novels for the plot, but to feel good about the romance. The characters are improbable - filthy rich man who is also young and gorgeous, greiving over the death of his fiance. Beautiful and succesful TV journalist, veteran of war zones, who faints at the sight of a ghost. But Deveraux is highly successful with these. She has the right touch, obviously, and she gives her readers what they want.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good read. I enjoyed this book. I really dont think i have read one of Jude's that i didnt like. This one had a great story that made me feel so sad for Jace. Full of crazy happenings, ghosts and mystery with a touch of romance at the end. It was very entertaining.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I actually really enjoyed this book until the tunnel collapsed. Then it seemed like Jude was in a hurry to finish and the story lost my interest. It's unfortunate - I really thought this one was going to be a keeper.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Still grieving three years after his fiancee's mysterious suicide, Jace Montgomery discovers a clue about her death that leads him to purchase an English mansion, where he encounters a headstrong ghost who died under similar circumstances. This was humorous and entertaining...a little bit of everything including mystery, romance and ghosts!
