      The book happy happy is great! i like to watch the show duck dynasty. the book showed how that his life started off living in a small shack all the way to the duck commander empire. the book is very very inspiring to show that a bad life can turn into something so good. the book is auto biography about the one and only Phil Robertson life was ruined until he discovers the bible that saved his life.i highly recommend this book to any average city person to any off the grid country person.Phil Robertson is a very smart man had a full scholar ship for for foot ball but he had bigger dreams to hunt fish and make the worlds greatest duck call.

      I really enjoyed the live of Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty. He wasn't always a believer of God and Christianity, but the book reveals glimpses into his life as a drug user, bar owner and the struggling marriage times of his younger years. Now his faith in God, his core beliefs for goodness and respect for others had led him to to a life of goodness that encompasses his life today.

      This was a very informative book if you wanted to know more about the Robertson family. It was not always rainbows and sunshine and I am really happy that they told the whole story and did not put things that would have made him look better. If it was not for me loving the tv family and such I would have never picked up the book nor enjoyed it. However I really enjoyed it. It made me Happy happy, happy

      I wasn't sure what to expect from this audiobook, but keeping the Duck Dynasty television show in mind, I figured it would be entertaining. And that it was! You never know what to expect on an episode of the reality show and the same goes for this autobiography. We hear the good, the bad, and the ugly, and let me tell you, there is plenty of all to keep you wanting to hear more.Al Robertson is Phil's oldest son who does a wonderful job of narrating the book. Since he lived through many of the events shared throughout the story, I'm sure that helped Al to emphasize certain parts. You don't hear much about Al from the television show as he hasn't been active with the business until very recently. We learn that this is probably the result of Al's strained relationship with his parents, which I found very refreshing when Phil shared so many personal details that isn't all sunshine and butterflies.After watching a couple of episodes of Duck Dynasty, it is apparent that the Robertson's are a good, Christian family. That doesn't mean that all has been easy for this family. Phil traveled a road that he isn't proud of but has come to accept that his mistakes helped to shape him into the man he is today.Phil starts the beginning of every chapter with a rule for being Happy, Happy, Happy. These rules made me smile, but they are basic, common-sense standards. Just a few of his rules are: wear shoes, don't let your grandkids grow up to be nerds, learn to cook, and don't try to understand women. So of course each chapter relates to a piece of his life he shares with us.A huge part of Phil's success and his family's happiness is his ministry and his personal relationship with God. I thoroughly enjoyed this part of the book and how he shared the changes in his demeanor and attitude. He developed a faith, changing him into a God-fearing man that left their children striving to be just like their dad.This was a wonderful story of one family's success with themes of faith, success, and family that many of you would also enjoy. If you are a fan of Duck Dynasty you definitely need to read it. I highly recommend this book for personal leisure or as a book club discussion.

      I have been a huge Duck Dynasty since the beginning of the show. I didn’t want to like a show about rednecks, but I just couldn’t help it, I loved the family – with Phil Robertson being one of my favorite with his calm, cool, patient attitude about all (at least from what we see on camera).

      I enjoyed this book. Learned about his time before there was a Duck Commander and all he endured was interesting, it’s things you would never know from watching the show. He wasn’t always the calm, patient man he is now. In fact, for quite some time he spent a lot of time drinking, doing drugs, and partying – a side that has long passed and we obviously don’t see in the show. Life was not always easy for this man, nor was it easy for his family and they dealt with his issues. He makes some really good points and I thought he was as incredibly honest in his thoughts. I may not have agreed with some of his thoughts (in fact, some made me so uncomfortable compared to my own beliefs that I gave it a slightly lower rating) but I respect him for his beliefs nonetheless and just putting it out there. I think this book brings a lot more reality to the “reality” show that has made him and his family so popular.

      This is the story of the patriarch of the popular TV show Duck Dynasty. I admit that I am amused by this family, and wanted to know more about the reality of them.The family is indeed quite close, but it wasn't always that way. Born and raised into a large family in Louisiana, hunting was a way of life. Phil grew up hunting, and loved the land, as well.It may surprise some, but Phil went on to college, playing football with Terry Bradshaw at Louisiana Tech. He also received a degree in physical education, including a master's degree in education. Phil went on to teach.As a sideline, unhappy with marketed duck calls, he began to make his own. Phil wanted a realistic duck call. It was 1972 when he came out with the first "Duck Commander".The family was another situation. Phil and childhood sweetheart, Kay, married. However, they struggled through Phil's "wild years". He even left her and his boys for a while. Eventually, they reconciled, and Phil knew he had to turn his life around.Phil and Kay went on to raise their four boys, while Phil grew the family business as the "Duck Commander". He also began to do public speaking and preaching the Gospel, which he still does today. Coming back to his roots of faith, family, and ducks Phil Robertson is "Happy, Happy, Happy".The book will entertain you, surprise you and perhaps even inspire you. It did me. I respect faith, family, and traditions and those who abide by these.

      What a wonderful summary of his life. I call it a summary because I believe there is so much more to his life. Phil Robertson, is very up front and honest in this Biography/Autobiography. He tells about his trials and tribulations when he was young and admits to some terrible things he has done in his past. He tells about his coming around to God and changing his life for himself and his family. While reading this not knowing personally but watching the television show Duck Dynasty I could hear him saying every word of this, which made it much more personal for me. Phil Robertson is a very good man who made himself that way with the help of his wife Kay. Great read, enjoyed every word.

Inspirational and real-Phil tells it like it is, the good bad and sometimes ugly of his life. From his hard scrabble upbringing to the multi-million dollar Duck Dynasty of today, Phil pulls no punches. Christian values, duck hunting and family are what make Phil happy, happy, happy and he goes into detail of how he grew up, met Miss Kay and raised heck then found the Lord and turned it all around. He was raised hard in rural Louisiana where the whole family pitched in to hunt, fish and work to support themselves. Phil tells of his college football years when he finally realized he liked ducks better than football, stepping aside so a guy named Terry Bradshaw could take over his spot on the team. Drinking, drugs, fights, it's all laid bare in this book. If you are a fan of the show or just want a darn good story then read this book. But be warned--when you finish reading you may want to hunt ducks and go to church both of which will make YOU happy, happy happy! 4 stars

      So, I gave this to my father-in-law for Father’s Day. Before I wrapped it and I decided to read it myself. My late father was an outdoorsman and the Duck Hunter gang reminds me of him.

      That said, I can really appreciate that Phil Robertson built a successful company out of something as seemingly simple as a duck call. I also appreciate that he turned his life around from a dead-end road of addiction. It was interesting learning about his childhood and how his family struggled.

      However, his constant criticism of yuppies got old. I’m not sure if he understands that, in comparison to a lot of his fan base, he is a yuppie. He went to college, has a master’s degree, played football, and owned a business. He’s not simply a guy working a blue-collar job, struggling to make ends meet, who hunts on the weekends. Thou dost protest too much, Phil. You can’t tell me his grandkids won’t easily get into the Greek life at Louisiana Tech. But for that matter, why do outdoor sports, education, and success have to be a war with each other?

      Anyhow, I also plan to buy Si Robertson’s book as a Christmas gift. I have a feeling I’ll enjoy it more. If Phil is Grumpy from Snow White, then Si is Dopey/Happy.

      I'm a huge fan of Duck Dynasty so I was pretty excited to read (listen) to this book. I found it very interesting and inspiring, we get to know Phil a little bit better. I enjoyed hearing his testimony, how his life changed so much before he found God and got saved. He also is a very hard worker and was determined to sell those duck calls. If you love Duck Dynasty, I definitely recommend this book!”
