    Chapter 1

The doorbell rang, announcing a new arrival at Netherfield Park Coffee. Georgiana looked up and smiled at the pretty redhead approaching the sales counter.

Good afternoon. What can I get for you today?

She looked up at the large menu above. It was white with flowing black script, made to look like a journal page. The counter was old, repurposed wood. It was light brown and covered in unique scars from its past and present life. To the left were a series of antique plates holding pastries and covered by individual glass domes. To the right was a restored, early model cash register.

Triple latte, whip cream, and a huge piece of luck on the side. Thea gave a weak smile that seemed somewhat forced.

I can warm up a fresh raspberry scone for you, if you like. What do you need luck for?

The scone sounds good, thanks. I’m job hunting, among other things, and I have a whole stack of applications to fill out.

Well, you go sit down and I’ll get one of my brothers to bring out your order. Maybe they can bring you a little of that luck as well. She smiled sweetly.

That would be great. Thanks. Her smile came a little stronger now.

As she turned to find a table her eyes swept across the counter. Suddenly, her pale green eyes impacted with a pair of familiar, soft, blue ones. Simultaneous sharp intakes of breath drew Georgiana’s attention. For a moment she stood transfixed as her brother, Darcy and the redhead stared at each other. Their eyes darkened and color rushed to the girl’s pale face. Quickly she turned away, and after a moment of indecision, she went to a table across the room.

Darcy continued to stare at the woman. The dreams had not done her justice. She was a curvy 5’6". She wore her tan jacket and jeans to accent those curves perfectly. Her milky skin was highlighted by her impossibly long, crimson hair.
