Stop Your F#cking Whining and Do the Damn Thing

About this ebook
Inevitably, within every life, there will be times when you get knocked on your ass. It’s a fact and the sooner you accept it, the sooner you’ll get off that newly bruised butt, stop the whining and complaining, and deal with it.
It is not my intent to offend anyone, it is my intent to inspire and motivate. And if you are offended, I really don’t give a shit. My Marine Corps background has taught me that total sensitivity and lack of discipline gets people killed. So, if you’re reading this introduction while browsing the self-help section of your favorite bookstore or your favorite electronic device, you might discover that this book ain’t for you, (due to my use of graphic words and phrasings). It’s not that I don’t have access to other words that might express another thought, it’s just that I believe some people require an in your face approach, or rather a boot-camp style approach with out ever going. I’ll use language that some might consider offensive and blunt as I feel that a well-placed curse word can make all the difference. I’ll, tell of true-life experiences that will frighten many. It is my hope that the use of specific language, bluntness, and story telling, coupled with practical suggestions and advice, might trigger someone to greatness. There are tons of self-help/self-development books on the market. They’re above and below, to the left and right, of this one. Most of these books are well written, and are only effective insomuch as the readers understanding and application of the principles. So take a moment and consider another book if this less-than-delicate no user friendly approach ain’t for you.
Now, on the other hand, if you’ve read some of the others and are starving for another perspective, there might be something within these pages for you.
You have entered the “No F#cking Whining Zone.”

A native of Washington, DC, he is a decorated U.S. Marine Veteran (Purple Heart Recipient), former Corrections Officer and has more than 20 years experience as an Actor on TV, in Film, and in Theater. As an ongoing student of self-development, Jiggetts offers the opposite approach of the usual soft self-help books, as some people don’t get it, nor do they realize their own personal greatness. By putting a mirror to the faces of whiners and complainers, he hopes that they might see and boldly face the convenient lies they hide behind that have held them back for too long. This uncut and often entertaining, boot camp approach is based on real life experience and observations. It is an effort to inspire all (or at least one) to greatness.

STOP YOUR FUCKING WHINING and DO THE DAMN THING
The Concept
5.7.09
It took a long time to get up the nerve to write this kind of book. I did have the idea to write a book, someday, but only when I was old and gray, my memoirs if you will. Nonetheless, I’m here, not quite old and grey, typing away on my laptop in an effort to motivate at least one of you readers to get off your ass and make it happen.
At first glance as per the back cover, About the author,
one might easily reach several conclusions about me without even knowing my back-story. One might consider, I’m former military, I have a degree, am currently an actor, am fairly good looking, and I am a published author. All of this equaling, this dude has got it made.
Well guess what, spoiler alert, I don’t have it made. What you are about to read is the sum total of personal effort, life experiences, and pro active choices to change my life for the better, as I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth, nor was I raised in ideal situations and circumstances. I am the product of an ever evolving me.
I’ve learned over the years that I have zero tolerance for whiners and complainers. This zero tolerance is mainly due to where I’ve been, things I’ve seen, things I’ve done, and things I’ve survived, all without fucking whining. Many of these experiences are unfathomable to most and by the end of this book, it will be revealed my zero tolerance mentality. This is a journey, not revealed to many.
When I hear people complaining, I usually turn a deaf ear. I only see their lips moving, consciously filtering out whatever positive tidbits they have to say, and tossing the bullshit in the mental trashcan of my mind. More often than not, I want to curse them out. I want to say things like stop your fucking whining,
me, me, me...you fucking cry baby,
or oh, let me guess, you’re the only person with issues,
etc. I refrain from doing so, as these people have already disclosed a major flaw, they’re fucking sensitive and haven’t really attacked me, personally. And if I light into their asses, I simply give them more to whine, complain, and bitch about.
The idea to write this book hit me several years ago, and it just wouldn’t go away. It’s much the same as many of you, have an idea that won’t go away, but fail to do something. Poor you, because I’m doing something about my idea. There was a voice in my head that kept nagging at me, yelling write the fucking book.
There were times when I would flat out ignore it, which only worked sometimes. And before I knew it, the nagging to write would resurface.
That voice was especially present in the midst of the whiners and complainers, many of which I will make reference to indirectly in this book via true story sections, but I will not call names but they’ll know who they are. It may not appear so, I experience just as much empathy for my fellow man as the next (if not even more), but shit, when does one finally stand on his or her own two feet?
People write books all the time... why not me? I’ve learned that if you ignore an idea long enough, it will dissipate. Not only that, but if you continue to ignore your great idea, you’ll wake up one day to find that someone else has executed it and you’ll be pissed. Trust me, I’ve had several ideas that were not acted upon, that became some else’s reality.
In writing this book, I’m doing what most people are too afraid to do, step out on the limb of faith. I’ve done it before and have seen great fucking results. It takes balls and goddamnit, I have a pair, and not just because I’m a guy. I have God given talents, just like EVERYONE else. What have I got to lose? By venturing down this road, I could very well discover another talent. One thing for sure, I will learn something. I hope you do too.
Here we go!
This Part
Stop Your F#cking Whining
Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us.
We ask ourselves: 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented or fabulous?' Well, actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us. It is not just in some of us - it is in everyone.
And as we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear our presence automatically liberates others.
-Nelson Mandela
1- It’s All Bullshit
9.17.09
The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth… Like everyone else you were born into bondage. Into a prison that you cannot taste or see or touch. A prison for your mind.
-Morpheus (The Matrix)
Unfortunately, there are those among us (aka the majority) who believe negative ideas about themselves that have been passed onto them, via parents, peers, society, stereotypes, and so on. Even more sadly, this majority seeks out experiences and people that further support their current state. This traps them in a box. Within that box they find comfort, regardless of how ugly, destitute, or even mediocre the surroundings might be, and they fear anything even slightly beyond that box and that’s some bullshit.
They believe and say stupid shit like "this is just how it is and that’s that." Many have heard and welcomed from childhood into adulthood that they are too black, too white, not black enough, too fat, too gay, too dumb, too lesbian, etc. The list goes on and on, seemingly without end. Many of these cruel statements have somehow been allowed to dictate your yesterday, your today and tomorrow.
If you don’t recognize what’s happening and put an end to this bullshit right now, you are destined to continue down that same fucked up path.
To continuously act as if these negative labels are true is ludicrous. These labels have been fixed upon you by a group of assholes. Yes, assholes! Beware, they come disguised as family, friends, society, etc. That’s right, I said FAMILY. Those mother-fuckers can be the worst. Family will fuck you over like none other, just because you’re family. You’re familiar, so they will feed you the worst negative shit, with a big spoon, for years and years, just to keep you with them. It’s because of their negative fixations, but I’ll address that later.
If anything ugly, mean, negative, etc, has ever been said to you, and you have acted upon it, that is some BULLSHIT. You are better than that. If you believe that success, on any level, is reserved for special people, then guess what, you’re on that special list too. We are all born of the Universe. WE ALL have something special about us. It’s up to each of you to recognize this, and work it.
Story: This is Some Bullshit and Fuck the Matrix said Gaga and Adele
The media will tell you there is no hope, and that, too, is some bullshit. Need an example? Take the music industry. Hell, artists have always had an impossible time trying to maintain steady footing in the industry, especially lately.
But even in music industry hopelessness, two women (no older than today’s recent college graduates) managed to force the industry to pay attention, give it its first sales increase in years, and make one of the most popular Youtube videos of all time. Ever heard of Lady Gaga or Adele? Both are total fucking superstars now, but that was definitely not the case and certainly not by accident.
In 2005, Lady Gaga was just 19 year old Stefani Germanotta, and she had dropped out of New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, in order to become a successful recording artist. Her dad gave her one-year to figure out how to do this, and after that she would be forced to return to school.
Instead of resting on Daddy’s financial comfort, Stefani worked her ass off making records, pitching herself to record labels, and performing in dirty, sweaty dives in New York’s lower east side. To say the least, the blood, sweat, and tears paid off. Less than a year later, she landed a deal with Def Jam Records, but just when things were looking up, the label dropped her for no reason, and Gaga fought against a deep depression.
So how did a sad 19 year old become the biggest pop singer in the world? Instead of whining and fucking crawling back to her parents, Stefani stood on her own two goddamn feet. She dyed her hair blonde and insisted everyone call her Lady Gaga. To be honest, she might have gone a little crazy, but she did it without fucking whining.
And as a result, Interscope Records later signed her. After that, she took over the mother fucking music universe. Now her music videos are Youtube events (who hasn’t seen the Bad Romance
video?), her tours sell the fuck out, venue after venue and year after year, coupled with a string of number 1 hits. She put aside the bullshit, and worked her ass off until she was the mother fucking superstar she always wanted to be. And you know what, nothing, absolutely nothing, is stopping you from doing the same thing except your whining, complaining, blaming, and bitching.
Oh, and how about Adele? Even younger than Lady Gaga when she started out, she went from indie-rock nobody to Grammy-sweeping superstar. Fearless and plus-sized in an industry where stars don’t eat, Adele never once gave in to the bullshit, and is now the standard for what’s gorgeous in pop music. Oh, and have you ever heard of a song called Rolling in the Deep
? That song revived the music industry, boosting sales the first time since 2004. Did Adele bitch and moan when industry officials told her she was too heavy? Fuck no. She pushed through, forced the industry to listen to her, and before long, everyone was/is.
The reason I bring these women up is because they are no different from you. They both started out as no-names, struggling
