About this ebook
Dr. Manmohan Singh, the incumbent Prime Minister, and his government are the makers of modern India. Dr. Singh's achievements have been fogged by a politically motivated, negative propaganda barrage launched by his adversaries. Under his leadership, India has become a donor from a head-down recipient of foreign aid; India's diplomatic and commercial clout in the world has gone sky-high and 21st Century is about to become India's century. On the domestic scene, poverty has been reduced and the mechanism to further reduce it has been set in motion. A huge middle class, second to none in the world is the outcome of Dr. Manmohan Singh's economy and policies.

FOREWORD
Through this book, I am not forecasting that Dr. Manmohan Singh’s party will surely win 2014 elections. Nor am I forecasting that if Dr. Singh’s party returns to power, it will opt for him to be the next Prime Minister,
I, only wish and pray,
That India does not forget his achievements and contributions to the nation.
Dr. Manmohan Singh has acted like a father who hand-fed his children to strength and maturity.
Great economists have agreed that India’s economy growing the way it did under him, would transform half of India’s households into middle class and Will lift millions out of poverty.
His experience and expertise are assets for India and shall not go waste.
To those who tell me, Dr. Manmohan Singh has not won even one election, I always reply: Winning a government is one thing, running it efficiently is quite another.
This book has only one objective.
To aware my Indian brethren of the multiple gains they have made in India under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh.

(CHAPTER # 1)
It is a BJP’s sponsored myth
that
Dr. Manmohan Singh is a weak Prime Minister.
Dr. Singh has fought and won many battles, quietly.
Is Dr. Manmohan Singh a weak Prime Minister? His adversaries have always been saying so. To prove their point, they give four reasons.
i)-He is not the Peoples’ representative; has never been elected directly and comes via Rajya Sabha
ii)- He does not take his own decisions and follows Sonia Gandhi’s dictates.
iii)-He watches but does not speak. He is like three monkeys of Mahatma Gandhi.
iv)-He does not even make a speech and always reads from a written page.
REBUTTALS
Dr. Manmohan Singh is not an elected leader. True But to fault a leader and for that reason, even a minister or the Prime Minister, on the ground that he/she comes via Rajya Sabha is insulting the constitution of India. It is one of the routes to power guaranteed by Constitution. Moreover, it is also an election, with constituents of higher caliber. Rajya Sabha is replete with talented leaders, many of them more intelligent and more thoughtful than the directly elected people sitting in the Lok Sabha. Arun Jaitley and Chandan Mitra (Both BJP’s) are just two instances of leaders whose talks are facts-loaded and whose speeches keep the audiences spell-bound.
The leaders occupying seats in the Rajya Sabha are also elected. Of course, the nature of their constituency is different and requires no instigations of voters or fiery speeches. A country to remain on right track shall be led by a leader who is
more of a statesman and less of a politician.
BJP’s second front of attack on Dr. Manmohan Singh is his humility to deal with his Party and especially with the Party President, Sonia Gandhi, in an extremely respectful manner.
To fault Dr. Manmohan Singh for listening to Sonia Gandhi reflects lack of understanding of a democratic system. The office of a Prime Minister is an institution or a tool to execute Party’s policies. A Prime Minister not listening to the voices within the party is not the leader of a democratic government. He/she is a dictator. In democracies like that of USA, the elected President has to listen to his unelected party bosses.
For this very trait of Dr. Manmohan Singh, LK Advani dubbed him as the weakest Prime Minister. Once on his blog, LK Advani wrote, that he is so subservient to 10, Janpath,(meaning Sonia Gandhi) and thus unable to avail the authority innate in this office of Prime Ministership,
One columnist, recently, went so low in disrespecting Dr. Singh that he called him an employee of 10 Janpath
.
A question arises here. If Narinder Modi becomes the Prime Minister, will the BJP President and other senior leaders of the stature of LK Advani, Yashwant Sinha, Venkaiaha Naidu expect him to listen to them or let him do anything and everything unchecked? If the answer of the BJP’s leadership is YES
, then they are paving the way for dictatorship in India.
I, just, want to remind the BJP leadership that their senior-most leader, LK Advani, could not digest their decision to make Narinder Modi as the campaign chief for 2014 elections, without first consulting him. Even not so senior leaders like Shatrughan Sinha vented their grievances, one way or the other. We are also aware of resentment within BJP when Narinder Modi was crowned as the Prime Ministerial candidate. The BJP violated two basic principles of democratic process. They have deprived their elected leaders (after election) of even their minor power of electing their own leader and they have robbed their other contestants to win on their own. They will look and behave like pawns.
No Party wants its Prime Minister to be a leader without checks. Dr. Manmohan Singh passes this test. He is a partner to policy-making but has never desired to be the exclusive policy maker. To fault him as weak Prime Minister reflects lack of understanding of a the very effective democratic mechanism that Sonia Gandhi has devised and Dr. Manmohan Singh has followed in letter and spirit.
Even though compelled by an unfavorable situation in which she could not become the Prime Minister herself in 2004, she devised a system that will go in history as the most democratic one. She devised the system of collective leadership of the Party and the government to run the country in line with the Party policies and promises. This is the mechanism that all parties shall follow. The head of the Party and the head of government shall not be the same person. It is almost semi-dictatorship.
The party is the mother of the government. The government must heed to the advice of the party to execute its policies and promises made with the people. Otherwise, why shall the party cadres sweat to win elections and let a few ministers run the country without listening to party dictates?
What LK Advani calls a two-power-Center and Arun Jaitley calls as Split leadership, Sonia Gandhi has described it as collective leadership. Dr. Manmohan Singh is a part of this very collective-leadership system.
Dr. Manmohan Singh’s listening to Sonia Gandhi and even following her dictates is collective leadership. It is not weakness. Without this, India would, perhaps, not have seen National Rural Employment Guarantee Act or food Security Act. Though, not a road to riches, they are definitely a guarantee against hunger. This act of party government collaboration will end fear of starvation and liberate the minds of the poor to search opportunities for social mobility. These are examples and outcomes of a government listening to Party and are boons to the left-behind sections of the Indian society.
We have the right to question the strategy of the critics why they shall call collective leadership as weakness.
BJP’S THIRD FRONT: Dr. Manmohan Singh’s adversaries accuse him for his silence. But, they forget that he hits the hardest, where needed.
We all know of his persistence with opening India for nuclear power energy. He prevailed upon his party to let the Left groups go, even at the cost of danger of losing government. And when the Left challenged him, he campaigned in West Bengal, hitting them with a fatal blow that the Left groups are always on the wrong side of history.
People believed him. It contributed to the victory of Mamata Banerjee though she proved to be a temporary friend.
Now, on the 4th anniversary of the UPA, Dr.Singh hit the BJP hard, the impacts of
Which, will be seen in 2014 elections. He told the audience that BJP gave UPA an empty glass, which he is filling.
The people will definitely consider it when they compare NDA’s achievements with that of UPA with Dr. Manmohan Singh as its steward. Dr. Manmohan Singh has made India an envy of great nations. Just recently President Obama told the Americans, If we do nothing, China, India and Germany will overtake us.
The most powerful man of the earth acknowledges India as an emerging global super-power. It is a clear proof of the fact that Dr. Manmohan Singh is filling the empty glass, they were given.
Just recently, in his press conference dated 1/3/14, he made a prophetic statement and put his adversaries in a defensive mode. He said, It will be a disaster for India, if Modi becomes India’s Prime Minister.
Despite all rallies and speeches making mockery of Dr. Manmohan Singh, millions will walk to the polling booths with
