ABOUT THE AUTHOR
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
I would like to acknowledge those who asked me questions about magic and even those who called me a nutcase. This book wouldn’t exist without them.
Prelude
Hi, I’m BenedikteEva.
I have written 4 books about magic and its practical use. One book is in Danish and three in English.
When people ask me what I do in life and I tell them about my books, they typically ask me ‘what do you mean by magic’. My normal response is something like: ’Um well magic is the art of creating the experience of life as we want it’.
Then some might say: ‘Interesting’ could you tell me some more about it’. And I answer: ’I can’t do it in 10 minutes that is why I wrote the books’. Not very polite, but this is mostly because I don’t know where to start when talking about magic and I get kind of shy.
Others might say something like: ‘So you are a nutcase’ I often just answer that by saying: ‘Yes I am a nutcase’ and then simply stop talking about magic with the questioning person.
Some who work a lot with self improvement often asks: ‘Why magic? You can never sell that as self development. People would think about role playing games or paganism or pulling rabbits out of hats when hearing the word ‘magic’ I know that’s what I think’.
And I answer: ‘Because magic is magic no matter what we call it and it has a history that goes back to the beginning of man’.
This book is an attempt to answer some of the questions people might have about the considerations I have had about magic.
Background
